Olbermann put Joel Surnow in his hall of shame for ducking a meeting with the head of West Point, who wanted “24” to tone down its constant “torture works’ message.

Watch the video, and read about the West Point meeting.

When I was in the Army, soldiers tried to be like “John Wayne”!  There was an actual phrase that went “The Second Lieutenant tried to get his platoon to ‘John Wayne’ the enemy in a frontal attack, but they refused.”  The military has always been influenced by the media’s image of it; just think of the movie “The Green Berets”, which starred (you guessed it), John Wayne.

If Olberman’s ratings continue to improve in direct proportion to national opposition to the crime bosses’agenda, Keith might end up sleepin with the fishes.  Godspeed my good man!  He’s the only one sticking his neck out there and calling a spade a spade.

Olbermann continues to hit the nail on the head.  I’m surprised Bush has continued to let him live.

24 may suggest that torture is “an option,” but nowhere else on TV do we see a rogue network of moles and operatives that actually “run” the POTUS — now there’s a “reality” show you can “take to the bank!”

Are the military upset about this because the show is demonstrated the torture it is using? Would they rather we just pretend the torture isn’t happening?
