“bleeding heart liberals” = translation: Your not rational and tough mind as “we” are, your not living in the real world.

Seems the people who cling to these euphemisms often do so in the face of legitimate points , to cut off debate. Your dismissed therefore what you have to say is not necessary to consider. Self-serving again par for the course.

They do help to make one valid point, I’ve never the phrase used a “Bleeding heart Conservative”?

I have heard “Compassionate Conservative” words used during election campaigns. As in much of advertising, often the flaw or deficiency in a product…is the very quality they try to sell to the public on.

I wonder if Mr. Cheney wishes the laws and world his party has campaigned for, to apply to his own daughter? or future descendant?

Will Mary Cheney face job discrimination? housing discrimination? or suffer the hate embodied from treating a group as second class citizens?

Na, his corporate connections surely have provided enough means so she won’t need to worry or face such indignations…or worse.

“A bunch of bleeding heart liberal nonsense.  Just becuase his daughter is gay doesn’t mean that he has to like it at all but he still loves his daughter you idiots!”

You are completely missing the point! This is not about liking “it” or of loving one’s child.

This is about the idiotic hypocrisy of many Republican and Religious leaders. The question Wold Blitzer so messed up was in how do you reconcile with how many vocal prominent Religious leaders are saying that what his daughter is doing is so wrong.

The Religious Right—with you among them one is only to assume—want to deprive Gays and Lesbians of recognition of status as heads of households who should have the right to marraige and to be able to raise children as married parents.

It is a legitimate question: “Mr. Cheney, how do you respond to those, like Dobson, who say that your daughter should not be having a child?”

You are saying what all morally corrupt religious people say: “hate the sin but love the sinner.” Which is hypocritical because you want through legislation and policy to deprive a certain segment of society rights that other people have.

Without “bleeding heart liberals” fighting for people rights we would be living in a country where Gays and Lesbians and Transgenders would all be in locked up in jail and/or subjected to terrible segragation and possible violence.

And don’t say that would never happen for it has been that way in the past. Against blacks as well as homosexuals.

Attention Popular/Talented Lesbians: Ellen Degeneres & Rosie O’Donnell please call Cheyney’s daughter on her disingenuous rhetoric last week which Jon Steward did so efficiently.  Instead of battling with the Don or Ellen’s latest dancing gig it would bode much better and the ratings would shoot through the roof!

Dear Dr. Truth (51302)...

Your assumption that males who are homosexual are that way because they desire to be females is about the most ridiculous nonsense ever posted on Truthdig. It’s so far off the mark it’s not worth a discussion.

Even though Cheney is one offensive, slimy, scheming, untrustworthy piece of work, his hypocrisy about gays and lesbians is one of his LEAST serious character flaws. It is a complete mystery to me how someone so sleezy & smarmy winds up as VP of the USA. Of course, I could be just as puzzled about the incumbent as President, couldn’t I?

But then, the entire country runs on HYPE & OPTICS… he who hypes best, wins! It’s all SURFACE & GLITZ… content is irrelevant to the great American unwashed.

Sure, there’s a sub-culture of intelligent, educated, analytical Americans who know the Emperor(s) have no Clothes, but there’s just not enough of them to counter the vast majority of the Archie Bunker “undershirt & beer” crowd who will vote for anyone who’ll toss them a crumb once in a while.

big·ot     /ˈbɪgət/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[big-uht] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation

–noun a person who is utterly intolerant of any differing creed, belief, or opinion.

[Origin: 1590–1600; < MF (OF: derogatory name applied by the French to the Normans), perh. < OE bī God by God] Unabridged (v 1.1)

n.  One who is strongly partial to one’s own group, religion, race, or politics and is intolerant of those who differ.

“Word History: Bigots may have more in common with God than one might think. Legend has it that Rollo, the first duke of Normandy, refused to kiss the foot of the French king Charles III, uttering the phrase bi got, his borrowing of the assumed Old English equivalent of our expression by God. Although this story is almost surely apocryphal, it is true that bigot was used by the French as a term of abuse for the Normans, but not in a religious sense. Later, however, the word, or very possibly a homonym, was used abusively in French for the Beguines, members of a Roman Catholic lay sisterhood. From the 15th century on Old French bigot meant “an excessively devoted or hypocritical person.” Bigot is first recorded in English in 1598 with the sense “a superstitious hypocrite.”  -

What they are pointing out is the Republican Party has run campaigns against gay rights.
And have made declarations that a family is a man and a woman. Opposed gay adoptions. Gay marriage etc. Asked that the constitution be amended to insure gay people can’t legally marry.

But those in leading positions in the party hold different views when there own children are involved. And are often silent while their party encourages such attitudes. Run election campaigns based on bigotry and people’s fears

So they preach to everyone else, make discriminating policies, and laws, but when it’s their own lives? it’s mind your own business.

Have you forgotten the arabic translator dismissed because they were gay,and no other reason? When we are in desperate need of just such abilities?

Do I feel Mr.Cheney was imposed upon? No….they are imposing on millions of lives every day.

So Dick can take his indignation, and kindly keep it. Sorry Wolf was so intimidated as to try to explain himself. I would have watched in stony silence as he glared. Wolf’s too nice and has been on friendly terms with much of the Pentagon. I do give him credit for having the nerve to mention the subject.

Tell me? does Mr.Cheney our master war vice president? think his own daughter incapable to serve as a translator for the country, simply for no other reason than she is gay? Or is that question too out of bounds?

Par for the usual hypocrite Republican course.

Special rights? Yeah there special all right.

I wouldn’t wish “them” on my worse enemy.

Not as funny as he normally is.  Comparing a person becoming a politican to a gay person wasn’t a good analogy.

bend over and take one for the human race, dick cheney. your latent homosexuality has you in such a dither that you have to kill, kill, kill. take one and go forth in peace. maybe you’ll even admit one day that you want to be a woman.
