Biden is NOT great on foreign policy.  Recall that he planned to hold hearings about Iraq in the summer of 2002 (before Bush’s war).  Biden planned the hearings to last about a week.  At the last minute Biden held hearings for a very short day.  Did he invite someone to testify, someone such as Scott Ritter, who actually knew something about Iraq WMDs?  Nope.  Biden’s “testifiers” were mostly neo-cons.  But God bless Scott Ritter.  Uninvited, he showed up and told Biden that there were likely NO WMDs in Iraq.  Ritter’s words were never publicized.  And Biden went on to vote for that atrocious War Powers Act in October 2002 which gave the OK for Bush to illegally and immorally attack Iraq.

Biden’s is the shortest presidential candidacy in history. Begun and ended in the same speech. I really like the guy, but his candidacy had no purpose. He’s much more effective where he is; holding hearings and sticking his foot up republican asses, instead of his own mouth.

To all:

Please, please, please, start paying attention to the voting records of those running for office and less to their humanity, or mannerisms, or, or, or ....  What matters is will they represent you the way you want to be represented. Pay attention to their history.

I don’t support Joe Biden for president, but he is getting a bad rap on this. Everyone knows that he has a good heart and did not mean to diss any prior African- American candidates.

Also the quote can be read 2 ways:
“I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that’s storybook, man.”

A comma or a pause before “who” can let the quote be read to mean that Obama is the first mainstream black to run for president (which is arguably correct) and that also Obama is articulate..etc.

One blogger pointed out that there actually was such a pause, with the interviewer saying “yeah”

Of course, “clean” was not exactly a good word choice. Also, Senator Biden talks so much that he always bound to say something offensive or goofy.

He is also great on credit card policy—at least that would be your opinion if your name were Visa or someone like that.

Does sound like the boy is racist? I don’t know his record on race issues, but they certainly would deserve a check.

In general, I have always thought he is very much a company man who speaks well, wears nice suits and ties, and is no where to be seen when a strong voice for what is good and right is needed. That he is just the kind of guy that the Repub Party was quite right to assail with their claim that the Democrat Party does not stand for anything—other than the obvious of course, good corporate policy.

It’s presidential campaign season now. Only 22 months left before the U.S. elects a new president. So, in the increasingly obsessive-compulsive arena of politics the Democratic candidates are lining up their appearances next to Democratic comedians Letterman, Leno, and John Stewart. You could say they can’t wait to make a joke of themselves.

For example, Joe Biden appeared on The Daily Show with John Stewart somewhere in the midst of his whirlwind 7-hour campaign, before he dropped out in embarrassment at what came out of his own big, fat mouth.

Biden isn’t even a candidate anymore.  He’s great on foreign policy, but he sticks his foot in his mouth over and over again.
