Stephen Colbert’s ‘Factiness’Posted on Jan 10, 2007
Adjusting to an altered political landscape, the “Report” host has been forced to craft a new word for his growing arsenal: “Now, since the beginning of my show, I’ve led a crusade against facts. Too often, they upset the truth that’s in your gut. But that was when the Republicans were in power. Their version of reality was worth ignoring facts for. Now the Democrats are running the show, and their version of reality is, unfortunately, based on reality.” Advertisement Elsewhere: . CommentsAre you a Truthdig member yet? Facts are ok, as long as they don’t get in the way of the truth!

Let Truthiness Reign! But Factiness will always have a role to play no matter those who grace our halls of Congress and who dwell in our White House (to coin a few new cliches).

Happily, Colbert and the writers for the show are exponentially clever in their talking points. Factiness indeed! Its this fresh wind blowing my mind that gives me hope we humans can survive these Dark Ages of the American psyche. At least when the lights go out therell be giggling in the bedroom the moral majority wont be able to stop. No matter how loud they yell shut up!.
