Or like having Henry Ford building truck factories in Nazi Germany in the late 1930s, Robert A? Or having Prescott Bush—Bush the First’s father, Bush the Lesser’s grandpa—running a bank that was Hitler’s financial conduit to the Western world, even after the war started, to the point where the U.S. government had to suspend its operations? All true, all true. Look it up.

Having a Muslim Congressman is like having Tojo on the board of directors at Genral Motors during World War 2.

I agree that Christianity had it’s bloody moments in the old testment, but I’ll just have to disagree with you that Christianity is itself a bloody faith. Christianity is about following the example of Jesus (turn the other cheek; love your neighbor; hate the sin but love the sinner).  Islam is about following the example of Mohammed, the pedophile/murderer/torturer/assassin/thief/liar. I’m not saying that your friendly neighborhood Arab or Pakistani convenience store clerk is secretly plotting the overthrow of the government, but asking Mr. Ellison whether he supports the ideology of our enemies – that is, Islamic jihad ideology - is quite reasonable, since Islam commands all Muslims to make war on Christians and Jews. Thanks for letting me rant. I respect your views.  Peace.

John, I realise Islam is a religion soaked in violence. I read a really good book about the faith a few years back, written by an Englishman who was basically pro-Islam, but he chronicled all the slaughters and factional infighting from the time of Mohammed until the 1950s. (He had some interesting and embarrassing facts about Islam, too, like what’s REALLY in the Ka’aba. It’s apparently a meteorite that probably came from an asteroid impact on the Moon, and fell to Earth. Imagine that, a faith that basically worships a ROCK!)

So yes, it’s a bloody faith. So is Christianity, so was Judaism before the Jews got so outnumbered by other people, and the Buddhists haven’t accounted themselves too well withn Japanese massacres in WW II and on Sri Lanka. I used to respect religion in general, but now it mainly seems to be an excuse to kill people in the name of your God. One thing I like about Australia is that they’re so a-religious here.

So until Ellison starts waving a sabre around in Congress, or voting to send tax money to terrorists, I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt. Just as I did with the Pakistani doctors I worked with in the U.S. and the Lebanese patients whose arses I wipe in my nursing job here.

I don’t hate Muslims. I hate Islam. If you think I crawled out from under a rock, well then I may be just as ignorant as you who keep your head in the sand, friend.  Rather than dig out from the rock I’m under, I prefer dig a bit deeper into the mindset of our elected officials.  Religion is a very powerful influence in most people, and since I’ve found that Islam is unique among the sacred writings of the world in counseling its adherents in hate and intolerance, I feel it’s crucial to take that into consideration when contemplating voting for an avowed Muslim. There is nothing in the bible that rivals the Qu’ran’s exhortations to violence.  And Islam itself is a political movement as much as it is a religion. Christianity is not. All that about the Crusades, Inquisition, etc. - ended hundreds of years ago. The Pope has apologized for the Crusades. Asking Mr. Ellison whether he supports the ideology of our enemies – that is, Islamic jihad ideology - is quite reasonable, since Islam commands all Muslims to make war on Christians and Jews.

Oh my gosh, John Nerd-on! What horrible people these Muslims are! Nothing like those loving Christians who had the Crusades, and the Spanish Inquisition, and the slaughter of the Huegenots, and the 100 Years War, and the genocide of the New World natives who the Christians were showing the One True Religion… And there’s nothing in the Bible about killing people, is there? LIKE HALF OF THE FRICKING OLD TESTAMENT????

Cheers to you for having the courage to crawl out from under your rock and show your true hatred. Most people try to keep that a secret unless they’re posting on some neo-Nazi website.

But I ask you, brave soul that you are, what are YOU doing to rid the world of this scouge of Islam? How come you’re not over there in Iraq defending America from hajis? Are you just one of those armchair haters?

Glenn Beck is absolutely right! Keith Ellison may be a nice guy and a great American, but because he’s a Muslim, I assume that he believes in the Koran. Most non-Muslims have never read the Koran. Religion of peace, my ass. I have read the Koran and done extensive research on Islam. Mulsims will tell you I’m lying, but it’s all in the Koran: The Koran calls for the complete conquest of the entire world and total submission to Islam through any means necessary – including lying, deception, killing and INFILTRATION. Do the research yourself! There are hundreds of texts revealing the sinister goals of Islam, including the “holy” Koran!  Western Muslims will tell you differently. They lie by omission or hide the truth out of embarrassment. Do the research yourself! Have you ever asked yourself why virtually EVERY Muslim terrorist invokes the Koran and Mohammed as their inspiration for their evil deeds?  Sure, there are many nice verses in the Koran that preach peace, but those verses were “revealed by Allah” to Mohammed when he had but just a small band of followers.  When he gained an army, the “nice” verses were abrogated (replaced), by dozens of verses commanding the subjugation or death of non-believers. (Most Muslims know this but they only quote the “nice” verses in public).  Muslims are commanded to follow the example of their prophet.  Well, let’s see: Mohammed and his army raided unarmed caravans, stole their possessions, killed the men and raped the women. He married a 6-year-old girl when he was 50 and consummated the marriage when she was 9 (pedophile?). Mohammed personally participated in the beheadings of roughly 600 prisoners (murderer). Mohammed had a young woman and an old man assassinated for writing poetry about him that he considered insulting (remember the Mohammed cartoons?) She was stabbed in the stomach while sleeping and the old man was cut open from his groin to his chin. DO THE RESEARCH!  These facts are in the Koran and the Ahadith - sacred mulsim texts! Mohammed said that a truce with unbelievers may be signed only when the Muslims are in a position of weakness, but is to be broken when the Muslims gain strength (no honor).  Because the Koran and Mohammed are the “supreme examples for Muslims to follow”, (in contrast to Jesus for Christians) it makes me a little nervous that an American congressman is also a Muslim. I find the placement of a Muslim congressman in our government at the very least, somewhat disturbing and so should you. Ok, so Ellison’s not going to murder and kill people, but if he believes in the Koran, then he also believes that you and I (assuming you’re not Muslim), are inferior beings. If you’re a Jew, that’s even worse.  That’s Islam in a nutshell, buddy. And I don’t want someone with those beliefs serving as a leader in our government.

Keith Ellison also supports Gay rights and is pro-choice.  Issues that would cause religious clerics of the Middle East (and a few American Christian Fundamentalist counterparts as well) to issue death statements against him.

Glenn Beck can’t be so stupid as to miss that!  The purpose of the question is to weaken the congressman
by raising doubt in the minds of the ignorant.  It’s pure political postering posing as news.

    But notice Glenn Beck’s technique.
He does this faux-embarassed, toe-tripping leadup to an outrageous question. By doing so, he’s run out the clock on the segment and the interviewee has minimal time to respond coherently.
While Beck was doing his schtick, I kept waiting for the congressman to yell, “Out with it!”

    >>>>>CNN due respect?

CNN thinking? They’re taking orders like all corporate media. As for agendas, let’s just cut the crap. Islamo-Fascism is the replacement myth for Monolithic Communism. Al Queda is Gladio for the Middle east. The War of Terror is the Strategy of Tension for the 21st Century. Chaos and failed statehood from the War of Terror is pretext for even deeper intervention. And, even as the not-so-Strange-Love faction of the oligarchy is now streaming loads of limited hangouts through the corporate media, hoping to rein in the madmen from the brink, essentially they only want the War of Civilizations postponed. They’re only half-mad. Not good enough. Pursue the full measure of the law. Investigate them all. Indict and prosecute the suspects. Execute the culpable. It’s nothing less than treason. Show no quarter. At the first sign of weakness, they will turn and fall upon you with daggers drawn. Support 911Truth!

I’m not a conservative troll but let’s get REAL.  Keith Ellison is not without an agenda.

Ellison recieved money from CAIR.  An organization with KNOWN ties to terrorism.  He has had secret fundraising events with CAIR barring media and those without special ID.

Ellison was a member of the Nation of Islam.

Ellison supported Joanne Jackson in 1997 when she said “Jews are among the most racist white people.”  His reply was “[We] stand by Ms. Jackson. We stand by the truth contained in the remarks attributed to her, and by her right to express her view without sanction.”

Ellison supports HR 228 which is styled as a bill to promote religiouis tolerance, but it singles out Islam as needing special protection and provides that “it should never be official policy of the United States Government to disparage the Quran, Islam,...”

I think it’s fine for Truthdig to accept money to run ads for Beck’s show. I can see it in the middle-right side as I’m typing. I also think it’s fine for every television viewer in America to CHANGE THE CHANNEL WHEN THIS IDIOT COMES ON!

The Congressman is a Muslim, so Beck asks him to prove that he’s not a terrorist? When he interviews a Jew, does he ask him to prove that he doesn’t drink the blood of Christian babies? I am so glad I moved out of the U.S. before this nitwit got his show. (It used to be advertised on Air America RADIO broadcasts, BTW.) Are they trying to out-Fox Fox News? It won’t work. There’s already one all-news channel for racist morons, and they’re not going to watch racist moron lite.

Question: Why the hell is truthdig taking money to advertise Glenn Beck’s show? Are you guys that desperate for money, or is your price just that low?

I’m trying to think of a good reason for advertising Beck on this site, and can think of none. Please enlighten me.
