“There’s alot of people and groups out there among the elite that want to see that happen” Uh sources?
I’m Mexican (live in Mexico) and I can’t for the life of me recognize the crafty Mexican Government Conspiracy that Buchanan speaks of. My government barely keeps it together with what it has, why would it want more.
The truth is that the Mexican government does use the porous border as a way to blow off steam when the economic situation becomes too harsh. But anyway, build a fence, build a fortress and the same people will go through. You want to stop Mexican inmigration? do what the European Union did with Greece and Spain, a new financial Marshall Plan for the south.

Why is it that whenever anyone has a plan regarding ‘illegal’ aliens the conversation always turns to Mexicans… what about that northern border? Are we going to build a fence along THAT border too? Are we going to keep the Canadians out too? Why not?

Pat Buchanan isn’t crazy for thinking Mexico wants to recapture the southwest. There’s alot of people and groups out there among the elite that want to see that happen. No, it’s not the hardworking immigrants that have that goal. They couldn’t care less. It’s these “immigrant rights” groups who are using them to do this.
Report thisSo yeah Pat is afraid that the tables could be turned. Well so am I! If you think our government is bad, how would you like living under the rule of the Mexican government. The southwest would go down the toilet in days.

The odd person down here muses about this, but for the most part, it’s not an issue, although every Mexican knows that Texas, California, Arizona, etc. were all once part of Mexico a LONG time ago.
In museums, the first documented unwelcome gringo steps into Mexican territory were made by Lewis & Clark.

OK, I know Pat is a nutcase. Yet I have mixed feelings about what he said. His conspiracy theory is complete lunacy, but his solution is not too far from the Senate proposal. He didn’t say that the 12 million undocumented workers should be hunted down and deported, he said they should be properly assimilated. (Note to those who create liberal talking points: the word “assimilate” is a good counter to the right wing term “amnesty”. We’re not giving these people amnesty, we’re assimilating them.)
I haven’t read the book, so I don’t know where Pat comes down on guest worker programs to fill seasonal needs and other details. But his actual proposals that he outlined on TDS are solid.
I don’t know what to think. How can a man hold such crazy ideas and yet offer reasonable solutions?

Dear Pat, your white sheet is showing. The interesting thing is that he actually admitted that the seizure of Mexican land in Texas was not accomplished by settlers but by imported rabble-rousers. Pat is afraid that the tables could be turned. Just like the administration is afraid of war crimes convictions of similar nature to that which we recommended for other despots.
