Oh my. Humans are so scary. Religion and the idea of “god” is a farce people, wake up. If there is no “ultimate power” which cradles and protects you throughout/at the end of your life, you will fall to pieces. It’s not your fault, we are all human and you have been coddled into believing this.
Christians, Muslims, Jews, whatever… How many years have humans been around? There has not been one single sign of “god”, “heaven”, “spirit”, “afterlife”...
“How many years has the “bible” or the “torrah” been around? They are MAN MADE people. Let me repeat. MAN MADE. These are stories. Written at a time when people thought the world was flat and the Moon was going to eat their children.
Time to start learning about the universe, and our integral place in it, instead of wasting time on leaving it up to “someone else.”

Bill Maher should brush up on his Christianity if he wants to make better arguments against conservative christians like Sandy Rios
Rios claims that Christians cannot deny their faith to save their lives.
I would have made two arguments:
1. Do you think God would forgive one if he denied his faith to save his life? If God would forgive him, who are you to judge? Are you placing yourself above God?
2. Did not Apostle Peter (Saint Peter) deny Jesus three times when Jesus was arrested? Didn’t Jesus forgive him?
Could you imagine your conversation at the Pearly Gates:
You: “Saint Peter, I made the sin of denying my faith in order that I not be killed.”
Peter: “Yeah, so did I. Come on inside.”

The delusional belief that some man named Jesus, who may or may not have lived some 2000 years ago, will save them has a basis in genetics and may be viewed as a mental illness. The so called “God gene” has been characterized. This is covered on “meet-jesus.com” As a scientist, I am trained to look for facts to support theories. The facts tell me that religion is a fraud. Those among us who are in the public spotlite have a duty to speak out about this fraud. It has done enormous harm to a lot of people over the years and is more of a threat to humanity than global warming.
