Pre-Cease-Fire Fighting Was Like Bachelor Party, Corddry Says

Rob Corddry
From Comedy Central

“Daily Show” correspondent Rob Corddry had a hilarious take on Israel’s and Hezbollah’s seemingly inexplicable burst of violent fighting in anticipation of the cease-fire. His sendup of United Nations peacekeepers is also riotously funny.

Partial transcript:

Jon Stewart: The one thing I did find very strange, Rob: This weekend, as the cease-fire got closer, the bombing got more intense. Israel sent in more ground troops. They fired more missiles at Israel, all while knowing the cease-fire was coming.

Corddry: That’s right Jon, but remember: the cease-fire began this morning, but it was announced on Friday. Now, if you’re fighting, that’s like being in traffic seeing a yellow light. You could slow down, but, anyone with half a sack is going to punch it.

Or Jon, think of it as a bachelor party just before the wedding. You’re going to want to let your Katusha rocket do some tunneling before you put the old boy on ice—if you know what I mean.
