Colbert

William Donohue, executive director of the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights, began his appearance on “The Colbert Report” on Tuesday by swiping at the host with a ruler.  After Colbert confiscated the ruler, Donohue went on to hit a home run for tolerance by challenging the nativity of Native Americans and the motives of Hollywood Jews.

The guest offered the plight of Native Americans as an example of misplaced liberal guilt, after which he said: “I’m a native American.  I was born in New York City, and those people came from Asia so they’re not really native Americans anyhow.”

Watch it:

Partial transcript:

Colbert: You have said “Hollywood is controlled by secular Jews who hate Christianity in general, and Catholicism in particular.  It’s not a secret, Okay?  And I’m not afraid to say it.”  Why aren’t you afraid to say it?  I’m scared.  I could never say that.

Donohue: Look the only part in there which I’ve written about, uh, that I don’t like is that verb “control.”  There’s no, there’s no kind of conspiracy going on here…

Colbert: But you say “control,” why’d you?

Donohue: I know that and I corrected that.  All I’m simply saying is this: there is an animus in Hollywood disproportionately by secular Jews against Catholics and Evangelicals.  A lot of my Jewish friends will admit the same thing.  Now it’s not about because you’re a Jew, that therefore you’re anti-Catholic.  What I’m simply saying is the secular mindset, which also includes in that same segment I mention a lot of ex-Catholics, some people who are in the Evangelical community which I mention in that same, I think it was Scarborough a couple of years ago, I got a lot of attention off of that thing…now look, Hollywood used to put out movies which all Catholics could feel proud about.  For a very long time…

Colbert: “Birth of a Nation” was a good one.

R. Chavez is it not true that there were 9 crusades by men from europe to seize control of the holy land from muslim’s?

Were there not thousands of “heretics” Murdered in the most brutal inhumane ways at the hand of priests?

And is it also not true that about 400 or so years ago the subjugation of indiginous peoples was perpetrated by catholic priests and friars raping murdering physically and psychologically the people indiginous to thsi continent (who already had their own theology and cosmology)

are we somehow living in the same present but not the same past?

props to Donohue and to Colbert. Saul, you’re talking out of your arse with nary a piece of evidence to back it up. my guess is that you have no idea what the Catholics teach about immigration reform, what the historical accuracies of the Inquisitions, Crusades, et al, and are exactly the type of person that the Catholic League takes issue with—uninformed, insensitive, and unbalanced anti-Catholics.

Saul:

While I am not challenging your criticisms, I thought I’d point out that donohue is not a “mouthpiece” for the catholic church. He doesn’t have any authority to speak for the church and probably is at odds with official church dogma and teachings. He’s simply a hairbrained person who happens to be catholic and has formed his little club to push his views on everybody else.

Why do catholics all of a sudden get along with Evangelicals?  Evangelicals believe that Catholics are going to hell!  Catholics believe that Evangelicals are going to hell!

‘Cold is God’s way of telling us to burn more Catholics!’

When is someone going to nail this prick.
This guy is mouth piece for a criminal organization that has shown throughout the ages it has no morals. ethics or common sense
They gave us the Crusades, Inquistion , subjugation of Indians, the animus that allowed Hitler to carry out the Holocaust and their handling of the pedophile problem should have exposed it as nothing more then a lying inept demagaugery.
That they hired a few pedophiles was not the problem but how that handled it or rather refused to handle it until sued.
Their No birth Control Policy is the root cause of our immigration problem with people having children they can’t support.
Send the bills for illegals to Mr. Catholic

Anyone that has a problem with this , please take up the offer at http://www.religionquestioned.com to shut down
