Jon Stewart

“Daily Show” host Jon Stewart seized upon Bush’s stem cell veto to explore the president’s “culture of life” inconsistencies.  Where the potential of a frozen embryo is concerned, life is precious.  The lives of Iraqi civilians, on the other hand, fail to carry the same weight.

Watch it:

Partial transcript:

[Debate clip of George W. Bush]

Bush: I think it’s important to promote a culture of life.  I think a hospitable society is a society where every being counts and every person matters.

[End clip]

Stewart: Every being counts.  Every person matters.

[Clip of George W. Bush at a press conference]

Bush: How many Iraqi citizens have died in this war?  Um, I would say thirty thousand, more or less.

[End clip]

Stewart: Each one precious.  Each one… Each one sacred-ish.  As it turns out there seems to be a bit of a loophole in the ‘culture of life’ promotion thing.

What, no DNA in the human egg?  So our DNA is contributed entirely by the sperm??  I guess the egg is just a ball of fruity jello.  Thank goodness for the heroic male.

I don’t think so, Chris.
Back to school with you.

Ok, here’s a few things:
First, there is a difference between “embryo research” and “embryonic stem cell research” - embryo research usually does not involve the killing of the embryo, while embryonic stem cell research is guaranteed to kill the embryo.
Second - the number 30,000 is for the number of Iraqi citizens, not civilians, and includes those who have been killed by other Iraqi citizens as a result of suicide bombers and car bombs, among other things - how many hundreds of thousands did Saddam kill, and how many more would he have?
Third - in answer to Chris below me, menstruation involves an unfertilized egg, and it is completely natural for that egg to pass out of the body, while it is a living cell, it does not have human DNA, and has no potential to develop into human life while unfertilized, while a fertilized egg is (beyond a few extreme circumstances) guaranteed to develop into human life.

When I saw Ralph Reed take 44% of the vote I could not beleive just how many stupid people live in the state of Georgia. If these dumb shits want coruption Karl Rove will really have an easy job in 06&08;. I thought it would be a freakin landslide considering what a puke Ralph Reed is. I also think that if these pricks want endless war the families of Bush co backers should be the first in line.

Bush has stood up for potential life in the form of already doomed frozen embryos at the risk of life and health here in the real world. I pray for women if he ever learns that menstration involves the loss of an egg. Periods are murder in his bizarro world view.

To: I Hate Bush… comment # 14645.

You answered your own question about these lunatic BuSHITes with your last word “shit”.
They…. every last one of them have “SHIT” for brains.  They are very, very, very, very ...... (to infinity) simple people.  They are sheep. (No bad reflection on the animal intended)  They are manipulated like puty or more like “shit” with the consistency of puty…..damn I’m getting carried away!  They have the cognitive capacity / functioning of the skid marks on my “Fruit’s of the Loom”.  They would eat shit if it had whip cream on it if Karl Rove was offering it to them.  Hell they would eat it anyway without the whip cream.  Forgive me if I sound like the schank Coulter, but I become ticked off thinking about how many stupid people we have in this country.
Keep the faith brother, or sister or whomever you are.

The racist, fascist administration learned this tactic from slave owners in America, during that period.

This tactic of “shock and awe.” When they hung slaves for all of the other slaves to witness, their bodies swinging in the wind, their face blackened, their tongues protruding, their eyes popping, their penis hard enough to hang a helmet on, while the men cheered and shouted and laughed, proud to be sending their sacrifice to heaven.

There is little difference with how they have treated the Iraqi civilians, bodies burned, young girls raped, children maimed, men gutted, body parts flying in through apartment windows after a blast, charred remains left for days for all to see…as Bush stands and grin, proud to be sending his sacrifices to heaven-as he mis-quotes the stats. Try 1.2 million… and that might be an understatement.

Bush stands there with this shit-eating grin on his face as he give the stats of Iraqi civilains who have been killed as though they are not human.

His dumbass, facist, racist, right-winged, religious fanatic, bull-shit spouting, hate mongering, self-rightous…god damn, this bastard really makes me want to slap the shit out of his ass every time I see his face.

Why did any human cast one vote for him, I don’t know. But, I sure hope they are getting what they asked for. Shit!

Jon Stewart is his ususal brillant self in using video evidence and humor to clearly and simply demonstrate the moral contradictions and inconsistencies of this mentally-challenged, corrupt and incompetent President and his dwindling covey of supporters regarding stem cell research.
