Stephen Colbert

As violence once again wracks that troubled region, “The Colbert Report” host reminds us that the 2006 Miss Universe Pageant is this weekend. “Let’s forget about the conflict between Israel and Lebanon, and focus instead on the competition between Miss Israel and Miss Lebanon.”

Watch it:

Partial transcript:

Colbert:

This weekend is the 2006 miss universe pagent. There is only one thing that truly unites mankind. The objectification of womankind. pure girl on girl competition between women who represent everything that is beautiful about their countries, thus allowing us to forget the depressing parts.

[On screen: “Geopolitical Beer Goggles"]

So, just for this week, let’s forget about the conflict between Israel and Lebanon, and focus instead on the competition between Miss Israel and Miss Lebanon. I think we can all agree: That’s one battle where everyone’s a winner.

I’VE BEEN THERE SO MANY TIMES.. IT’S GREAT.. BUT THEY HAVE TO UNDERSTAND THAT I LOVE LEBANON… AND THAT I’M SO SAD RIGHT NOW

I’m guessing satire confues and fightens you because you don’t understand it. Colbert is humor. And even though I don’t find him that funny, I do find humor in the fact that many people take him seriously.

Yeah, that’s right, take our minds off the uglinesss of the situation by treating women as objects.  The turd even said the despicable phrase—THE OBJECTIFICATION OF WOMANKIND.  I wonder, how would colbert (he doesn’t deserve the initial capitalization of his name) feel if he were displayed as an OBJECT???
