William Kristol and Juan Williams

William Kristol and Juan Williams

After conservative pundit William Kristol argued that Bush’s “coddling” of Iran had “invited” the latest outbreak of violence, and that the United States should join in the new fighting, Juan Williams pegged Kristol for what he is: a warmonger. Kristol’s stunned expression is priceless.

Think Progress:

This morning on Fox News Sunday, William Kristol argued that the Bush administration’s “coddling” of Iran had “invited” the latest outbreak of violence, and that the United States should join in the current fighting. Juan Williams pushed back:

You just want war, war, war, and you want us in more war. You wanted us in Iraq. Now you want us in Iran. Now you want us to get into the Middle East. … You’re saying, why doesn’t the United States take this hard, unforgiving line? Well, the hard and unforgiving line has been, we don’t talk to anybody. We don’t talk to Hamas. We don’t talk to Hezbollah. We’re not going to talk to Iran. Where has it gotten us, Bill?

William Kristol thinks that the way to “win” a war is just to kill everyone that gets in your way. I’m sure the U.S. has more that enough armaments to do that ten times over for the whole world.

But I’ll take Juan William’s question and change it just a bit and say “Where is it going to get you, Bill? How much of the world and its resources to you want? Why should you have them? What the hell are you going to do with them?”

How did people like him ever get into positions of power? These guys - the Project for a New American Century types, I mean - are sick. They are sick in mind and sick in spirit. They have no empathy and no morals. They are very dangerous.

Yes, and it was also Juan Williams who, in the Democratic Presidential Candidates’ debate in Detroit, Michigan asked another candidate whether he agreed with Governor Dean’s position that “only states with high populations of blacks and other minorities should have tough gun laws.”

That was a bald-faced, intentional misrepresentation of Governor Dean’s position, stated over and over again, that states should enact whatever gun laws they thought necessary to control their problems with violence.  Never, ever, ever, did Governor Dean state explicitly or implicitly that states neeed to pass gun laws to control the actions of people of color.  Juan Williams knew that.

Juan Williams is a gutless, lying, cheap huckster who sold out to Fox News a long long time ago, and until he leaves that network and repudiates all they stand for, he is one of them.  What he says is to be regarded with nothing but suspicion and contempt.
