Deutsch Rips Into Coulter on Widows

Donny Deutsch and Ann Coulter

From Crooks and Liars

CNBC Host Donny Deutsch gave Ann Coulter the Joe McCarthy treatment (“Have you left no sense of decency?”) over her vitriolic attack on the 9/11 widows. Deutsch also questioned whether Coulter’s liberal boogeymen even exist. (A really long interview—a great way to see what Coulter is all about)

Crooks and Liars:

Donny really did a number on Coulter last night. They said a few things that I will differ with of course, but there was no wiggle room for Coulter to break free from. There wasn’t a talking head that would give in to her vaudevillian brand of extremism. He’s telling her that there are no liberal bogeymen. Then he gets started on her shots at the 9/11 widows.

I’m not sure what interview you guys were watching.  While the questions concerning the widows was good, and probably his most hardline stance of the evening, the interview was mostly fluff.  While I am an avid Deutscher, I was really disappointed with the interview.  He was flirtatious, at one point spent time commenting and staring, more like drooling over her legs and bringing up a scenerio of “Imagine we are two people having dinner.  He always had a tough attitude before the Coulter show, but watching the interview, it appeared to be more of a guy trying to impress a woman at a bar.

Stick to what you’re good at Deustch…child predators!!!

I was quite proud of a Queens man staying the course with Ann Coulter and her snarling facial
grimaces.

Not a big fan of Deutsch’s show but he did ask Coulter some questions she definitely couldn’t wiggle out of. Her behavior reminds me of the film The Last Supper that came out in the 1990s. Deutsch appeared to coming from the school of thought that Thomas Dye espouses in that Americans are a mixture of conservative and liberal when it comes to issues. Americans may be for one thing but against another. For example, I firmly believe in secure ports and borders but I think that prostitution should be legalized like it is in certain foreign countries. The way Deutsch confronted her was much more classy than that student who threw a pie in her face.
