Ned to Joe

Conn. businessman Ned Lamont and Conn. Sen. Joe Lieberman

Cute moment in Thursday’s debate in Connecticut’s Dem. Senate primary race: Sen. Lieberman tried to interrupt challenger Ned Lamont and Lamont silenced him by saying “...this isn’t Fox News, sir.”

Crooks and Liars:

After Ned tied the energy bill around Lieberman’s neck–Ned was trying to respond to Joe’s lame excuse for voting in favor of Dick Cheney’s bill when Lieberman tried to interrupt and…

Lamont: Just let me go…this isn’t Fox News sir…That was a bad bill…

Joe was left cackling at the podium.

Lamont should be elected senator based on that comment alone.

You have it all wrong.  Democrats want people to run that are going to stand up to Georger Bush and the Republican Christianist corporate fascists that have taken this country over.  Lieberman is a colaborator, as he’s voted with the Republicans on the most important issues.  Democrats are supposed to stand for social and economic justice, and Lieberman does neither!  Democrats need not have Republican light types running for office. It’s about time for Democrats to rid themselves of the likes of lieberman and Clinton, and get real progressives in congressional and senate seats, and finally the presidency.  We need more Fiengolds and Kucinichs, and from outside the party, someone like Bernie Saunders!

You’re absolutely right! So why does Lieberman insist on doing that to Ned Lamont?

Progressives are just trying to weed out the folks who are co-opted by corporate money and who keep castrating the Democratic Party. Howard Dean, Paul Hackett, Marcy Winograd…all folks who drew energy and breathed life into the campaign – had their fire extinguished by the likes of the Clintons and the DLC. If “extreme” means truth, lets have more of it!

It appears as if the “Progressives” (left wing radicals) are trying to punish anyone in the democratic party who isn’t “extreme” enough for them.

I’m not sure how driving out liberals like Lieberman (and he is a liberal on issue after issue) can win them elections.  They have gone from being the Majority party to being the miniortiy party and they seemed detemined to become a smaller minority party.

Winning elections is about BUILDING a party not tearing it down, smearing members, and kicking people out.  Right now watching the democratic party Boo Hillary and Smear Lieberman is sort of like watching a spider devour it’s mate.
