Connie Chung’s Train Wreck of a FarewellPosted on Jun 23, 2006
It was really painful to watch America’s first female Asian-American news anchor say goodbye in such a squirm-inducing fashion.

That’s not Connie Chung, that’s George Takei from Star Trek!

Halarious. Kinda like shootn’ the moon at the big boys at the network. Wow! That took big balls(ovaries?)to do that. Surprising and accurate reflection of how many of us feel about the entire MSM these days.

Glad they’re gone. The whole show was an absolute train wreck from the get go, with fake scripted banter a-plenty. I haven’t seen a couple with less chemistry since TomKat…
MSNBC should really go 24-hr Olbermann…

She perhaps could have left US with better “memories.” I hope the clip is “out of context”... this was a send-up, wasn’t it? Like Roseanne’s massacred rendition of the National Anthem?
Why would anyone in the entertainment business want to inflict such pain on an audience?
There’s an old observation that seems to hold true… that the MORE “talent” one has, the MORE eccentric/bizarre behavior will be tolerated. (Liberace was one weird dude… but who cared? He could play that piano with more style and passion than almost anyone else in the world?)
The corollary to this “truism” is equally valid. Poor Connie isn’t even close to having enough talent to get us to accept that performance as anything but AWFUL! Any inebriated female off the street, poured into a ridiculous dress and plastered with makeup could do as well. What an insult to even air it!

That was achingly funny. Thank God it was done tongue-in-cheek. Worst singer since Rhonetta on American Idol!

Oddly, Connie and Maury’s show was a lot of fun each week. They made fun of Bush and his cabinet every week, as if they couldn’t believe the other media would not cover what they saw. Hope they turn up somewhere else soon.

OMG - Wheres the piano track? Without the piano it really amplifies the fact that she can’t sing a lick if her life depended on it.
Truly hilarious and sad at the same time.

Cheers to Connie Chung! It is refreshing to see that she’s not taking herself too seriously, since no one else was either.
