Al-Anbar Province.

Ar-Ramadi.

■ US aircraft strike train station, private home in ar-Ramadi, killing five civilians, wounding 15 more, including nine school children taking final exams.

In a dispatch posted at 1:02pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier US warplanes struck various places in the city of ar-Ramadi, about 110km west of Baghdad.

The ar-Ramadi correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the US aircraft hit the train station in north of the city and a residential house in the as-Sikak area.

The correspondent reported a doctor as saying that five civilians were killed – two children, an elderly man and two women – and 15 more people wounded – among them nine school children struck by shrapnel in the air raids. The children were at school taking their final exams when the American bombs struck.

■ Resistance fires heavy mortar barrage at US military camp in western ar-Ramadi.

In a dispatch posted at 11:03am Makkah time Monday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired four heavy 120mm mortar rounds at the US military headquarters set up in the former Iraqi Eighth Brigade camp in western ar-Ramadi.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in ar-Ramadi as saying that the four heavy mortar shells blasted directly into the American camp, sending plumes of smoke rising into the sky. US helicopters were seen prowling over the camp and surrounding areas after the attack.

■ Resistance bomb kills five US Marines a day after they arrive in ar-Ramadi from Kuwait.

In a dispatch posted at 10:30am Makkah time Monday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that at about 7am local time Monday morning an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by an American Zeal troop transport vehicle that had entered ar-Ramadi together with a large American military force that began arriving Sunday night.

The ar-Ramadi correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the Iraqi puppet army as saying that the blast occurred on the main street opposite the al-Qadi Mosque and the al-Yamamah softdrink shop. The Iraqi puppet army source said that the explosion killed five US Marines who had arrived just a day before from Kuwait.

Eyewitnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam that the Zeal troop transport burned for about two hours after the blast, since the Americans left the flaming vehicle without trying to extinguish the fire ignited by the bomb. They did remove the bodies of the five dead Marines and of several more wounded men. A source in the ar-Ramadi municipality offices confirmed the deaths of the five Marines, saying “the armed men in the city met the new soldiers with a bomb that took the lives of five of them and impaired two more.”

Hundreds of fresh American troops, many with long hair, beards, and wearing t-shirts and red headbands rather than uniforms and helmets, pour into al-Anbar province from Kuwait under heavy air cover.

In a dispatch posted at 10:20am Makkah time Monday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a huge force of hundreds of US troops began moving into al-Anbar province at 3am local time before dawn Monday morning. The columns of American troops had constant air cover from American warplanes as they advanced up the main highway into al-Anbar Province. These are the forces that the United States said it was drawing out of Kuwait to reinforce its beleaguered troops in western Iraq.

Correspondents for Mafkarat al-Islam in Abu Ghurayb, al-Karmah, al-Fallujah, ar-Ramadi, ‘Amiriyat al-Fallujah, and al-Habbaniyah reported that the hundreds of troops are accompanied by dozens of military vehicles of various types.

The correspondents reported that the Americans who are riding in on the vehicles do not resemble the US troops already in al-Anbar Province. They have beards and long hair. Some are not wearing the regular American uniform, a large number of them wearing undershirts and have red bandanas on their heads.

The giant vehicles that the new American troops are driving also differ from those any of the vehicles that the US has brought into the country since it invaded in 2003.

The correspondents reported that a number of those fresh troops settled in al-Fallujah and al-Habbaniyah. A large part of them went into ar-Ramadi where the al-Warrar base is located.

Al-Fallujah.

■ Resistance mortars pound joint US-Iraqi puppet army headquarters in al-Karmah.

In a dispatch posted at 4:10pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters fired six 82mm mortar rounds into the headquarters jointly manned by US occupation troops and Iraqi puppet forces in the al-Karmah area to the east of the city of al-Fallujah, about 60km west of Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in al-Karmah as saying that the joint headquarters took direct hits from all six shells, sending plumes of smoke rising into the sky.

Hit

■ Resistance fighters ambush US patrol in Hit, reportedly killing four American troops.

In a dispatch posted at 10:37am Makkah time Monday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters attacked a US patrol in western Hit, about 170km northwest of Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported local eyewitnesses as saying that Resistance fighters armed with light and medium weapons and pipe rockets ambushed the patrol, sparking a firefight that lasted for about half an hour and resulted in the destruction of one American armored vehicle and damage to two Humvees. Four US troops were killed and four more wounded in the battle. Afterwards, US troops surrounded the area, closing all roads in and out.

Baghdad.

■ Resistance bomb wounds Americans in ad-Durah at noon Monday.

In a dispatch posted at 5:40pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US military patrol in the southern Baghdad suburb of ad-Durah at noon Monday.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in ad-Durah as saying that the bomb, which had been planted on the road to as-Sayyidiyah, disabled a Humvee, wounding four US troops.

■ Resistance bombards puppet “Shock Troop” headquarters in eastern Baghdad.

In a dispatch posted at 10:53am Makkah time Monday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired five 82mm mortar shells at the headquarters of the puppet “Iraqi Interior Ministry Shock Troops (Maghawir)” in the al-Waziriyah neighborhood of eastern Baghdad.

In a dispatch posted at 10:41am Makkah time Monday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters shot and killed two pro-American Badr Brigade militiamen, who were concurrently puppet “Iraqi National Guards” in the western Baghdad section of al-‘Amiriyah.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in al-‘Amiriyah as saying that the Resistance fighters withdrew immediately from the area after carrying out their attack.

■ Puppet “Iraqi Ambassadors” of Kurdish origin issue fake Iraqi passports to Kurds from Syria, Turkey, and Iran in plan to seize oil-rich Kirkuk for hoped for Kurdish ministate.

Iraqi sources have reported that Kurdish “Ambassadors” at some embassies of the puppet Iraqi regime in Europe have been waging a campaign to issue Iraqi passports to Kurds from Turkey, Iran, and Syria in an effort to boost the Kurdish “population” of occupied northern Iraq, in order to facilitate the partition of the country along sectarian and ethnic lines.

The patriotic Iraqi website alBasrah.net reported that the pro-American Kurdish separatist political parties issue Kurds from other countries forged Iraqi personal identity cards, indicating their place of birth as “Kirkuk,” an oil-rich city in northern Iraq lying outside the Kurdish separatist area, but one that Kurdish separatists have been actively trying to incorporate in their zone.

The forged identity cards are sent to the Kurdish “Iraqi ambassadors” who issue Iraqi passports on that basis.

AlBasrah.net reported that the puppet “Iraqi ambassadors” who are not Kurds have refused to issue passports based on the fake IDs. As a result the Kurdish separatists simply redirect the applicants. Non-Iraqi Kurds resident in Germany get passports from the “Iraqi Embassy” in Austria. Al-Basrah.net reported that the “Iraqi Embassy” in Vienna issues dozens of Iraqi passports every day to Kurds who take them back to Germany.

The aim of the campaign to issue Iraqi passports to Kurds from Syria, Turkey, and Iran is to prepare for a referendum set by the puppet regime for 2007 in which the fate of the province of Kirkuk is to be determined. In the run up, the Kurdish separatists hope to create as many “Kurds from Kirkuk” as possible while pursuing ethnic cleansing of Arabs on the ground in order to seize the oil-rich area for the Kurdish separatist mini-state that they hope to set up under American and Zionist protection.

Salah ad-Din Province.

In a dispatch posted at 10:30am Makkah time Monday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US military column on the road to the main US base in the city of Yathrib, about 75km north of Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the Resistance had planted a bomb on the main road to the al-Bakr Air Base, which US forces have occupied and called Camp Anaconda. The explosion completely destroyed a Humvee, killing two US troops and severely wounding two more of them.

■ Resistance car bomber blasts US column in western al-Mawsil.

In a dispatch posted at 3:50pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance fida’i fighter drove a car bomb into a US column on the main road in the al-Yarmuk neighborhood at the western entrance to al-Mawsil in northern Iraq.

Yes, YOUR TERRORIST BUSH does make decisions according to his poll numbers.  Just ask the military forces.  Your statements show just how Clueless YOU really are and how Far Away YOU are from the real Truth. The further BUSH Sinks the further he ‘trys’ to cover his BAD press.  But BUSH has FAILED, and the numbers in “many ways” are multiplying like mice! 2`

You stated and I quote:
“know what is really going on!”

Just remember YOUR statement when YOU are paying 8.00 for a tube of tooth paste, the market tumbles in earthquake fashion, oil is @ 107.00 a barrel, gold is @ 1150.  Interest rates to the moon to avoid DEFAULT!  How many MORE companies will go belly up?  What do you think unemployment will be like next year?  Do YOU know the meaning of HYPER_INFLATION?  Most Americans are ignornant upon their own 401K paths (settling 10 % or less a yr.), let alone Top Down Financials and effects.

You also stated and I quote:
“International politics, including war, is a very complicated business “

Hardly, follow the LOGIC money trail! If YOU spent a life time as a professional chartist it removes the guess work for YOU!

You also stated and I quote:

“little guys and girls have no business judging every decision our leaders make.”

First, I will not tolerate INCOMPETENCE within the White House.  Secondly,  EVIDENCE is MORE than CLEAR than ever, BUSH isn’t qualified for the JOB within ANY Leadership role!  Did you SEE Katrina White House Management? Third, my son’s LIFE is On The Line.  Is YOUR life on the line? Didn’t think so.  Don’t judge a mother of a Special Forces Soldier unless YOUR FEET are on the front lines dripping BLOOD!

You also stated and I quote:
“I trust and hope our leaders will see the larger picture in their decisions. “

Sadly, it is people like YOU that will allow BUSH to take YOU and other Americans to the financial demise and soon!  Hope YOU enjoy the ride!

Just remember to send TERRORIST BUSH a little thank you note in 2007 - 08 for that “LARGER PICTURE “!  Happy trails w/401K!!

All those Bush-bashers:
The president does not make decisions on what he reads in the paper - I surely hope he has other/better sources of information.
Then us suckers whose information stems from the news media think we can judge his actions because we “know what is really going on!”
Read history, folks. I remember Neville Chamberlain returning to England from a conference with Adolf Hitler and exclaiming: “Peace in our time!”
International politics, including war, is a very complicated business and little guys and girls have no business judging every decision our leaders make.
As an immigrant I say “Right or wrong, my country!” as the Brits used to declare, and I trust and hope our leaders will see the larger picture in their decisions.

Oil Rises After Iran Threatens to Disrupt Persian Gulf Supply

June 5 (Bloomberg)—Crude oil rose in New York to the highest in more than three weeks after Iran threatened to disrupt energy supplies from the Persian Gulf region in a confrontation over its nuclear program.

Iranian supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said yesterday the U.S. could ``seriously endanger energy flow in the region,’’ supplier of about a quarter of the world’s oil, by acting against Iran. Oil has risen 20 percent this year amid disruptions of supply from Nigeria and concern Iran’s exports may be cut.

``There’s a large amount of oil flowing through the Straits of Hormuz, and with the market as tight as it is, we just can’t afford to do without those flows,’’ said David Thurtell, a commodities strategist at Commonwealth Bank of Australia in Sydney. ``They’re not just threatening to withhold their own oil, they’re threatening to disrupt energy flows through the Gulf.’‘

Crude oil for July delivery rose as much as $1.12, or 1.6 percent, to $73.45 a barrel in after-hours electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange. It was at $73.25 at 7:48 a.m. Singapore time.

On June 2, oil climbed $1.99, or 2.8 percent, to $72.33 a barrel, the highest close since May 11, after an attack on a Nigerian oil rig. Oil touched $75.35 on April 21 and 24, the highest since trading began in 1983. Prices gained 1.3 percent last week.

Iran, which pumps 3.85 million barrels a day of crude, is strategically located to shut off exports of about 17 million barrels a day from the Gulf region through the Straits of Hormuz.

Oil Revenue

Khameini, in the address carried by the official Islamic Republic News Agency, said Iran is in a stronger position than the U.S. because President George W. Bush is the most unpopular leader in the world.

Bush ``faces protests and public wrath wherever he steps on earth,’’ IRNA cited Khamenei as saying.

U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice dismissed the threats, saying the Persian Gulf country needs the oil sales.

``We shouldn’t put too much emphasis on a threat of this kind,’’ Rice said yesterday on the ``Fox News Sunday’’ program. ``After all, Iran is also very dependent on oil revenue.’‘

The U.S., China, Russia and three European nations are offering Iran, holder of the world’s second-largest oil and natural gas reserves, a package of incentives to re-engage in negotiations on its nuclear program if the government in Tehran abandons efforts to enrich uranium. The U.S. contends Iran is heading toward development of nuclear weapons, while Iran says it is seeking to develop nuclear plants to produce electricity.

``Iran seems to be sticking to the line that they are going to have nuclear enrichment no matter what,’’ Thurtell said. ``If Iran is forced to rely on anyone for their nuclear fuel processing it compromises their long-term energy security, and I don’t think they’re going to be prepared to do that.’‘

In Nigeria, kidnappers yesterday released eight foreign oil workers they took hostage two days earlier in the Niger River delta. The incident was the fourth kidnapping of foreign oil workers this year in Nigeria, Africa’s top oil producer.

And just what does the Gulf Region including UAE think of BUSH policy:

Published: 06/04/2006 12:00 AM (UAE)

Increasing the nuclear risk

One of the consequences of the war on terror is a convenient disguise for the proliferation of nuclear weapons, according to a report by the former United Nations’ chief weapons inspector, Hans Blix.

The report confirms what many already knew: The battle to combat terrorism risks fuelling a new global arms race not just in nuclear weaponry but also in biological and chemical weapons.

Blix has said things before that some disagreed with, most notably concerning the lack of WMDs in Iraq. As a former weapons inspector he knows the subject and should not be easily ignored. Simply put, the 9/11 terrorist attacks and the subsequent war on terror have led to the abandonment of international co-operation on WMD monitoring and disarmament.

During the Cold War, safeguards, admittedly far from foolproof, were built into the system. But since the Berlin Wall fell the international community has turned a blind eye to nuclear weaponry and its inherent ability to create global chaos. In some ways the world is a more dangerous place since pieces of the Berlin Wall became paperweights to adorn office desks.

Blix believes a summit should be held involving the global powers to tackle the proliferation problem. It is an option the world does not have the luxury of rejecting, for two main reasons: the world’s nuclear stockpile must be fully accounted for and a process of regulated, accountable disarmament must commence.

The stakes are simply too high for any other course of action. We cannot live at peace in a world where nuclear weapons are in the hands of terror organisations, nor can we live in a world where states can threaten other states with nuclear attack. For the planet’s survival, leaving this current state of affairs as a legacy to other generations is not a viable strategy.

Ohio Poll Giving Low Approval Ratings For Bush, Taft

June 2, 2006 03:32 PM EDT

CINCINNATI (AP) - A major statewide poll is reporting record-low approval ratings for President Bush and Governor Taft.

In the Ohio Poll released today, only 35 percent of Ohio residents approved of the president’s overall performance. Those are the lowest numbers for any president since the poll began in 1981.

Taft’s approval rating of 26 percent was also the lowest for a governor.

Bush’s approval ratings in the state that helped deliver the 2004 election to him were similarly low on questions about Iraq, foreign policy and the economy.

Bush hit his peak in the state poll in November 2001, when his approval rating was 87 percent. Taft’s highest rating was 69 percent, which he also hit for the last time in November 2001.

The next thing ya know he’ll show up at the UN wearing a robe and making threats with a raised staff. Ya know, “Woe unto theee O wicked…” and, whatever the fuck. Even if he falls short of Charlton Heston he still must’ve seen The 10 Commandments too many times when he was a kid. I’ve said it as eloquently as I know how, and as vulgar as I can get away with: He’s dangerous.

War!
What is peace good for? Absolutely nothing!
At least in the minds of Bolton, Bush, Cheney, Rummy, and others anyway.
Because there’s no profit to be made in peace.
And you can’t expand presidential powers unless you’re in a persistent state of war.
It also seems American Imperialism is chic with this crowd. These maniacs need to go…now.

Bolton’s an Ambassador? (Oh, sorry, according to the Fox People, an Important Ambassador.) And he says things like: “Put up or shut up?” What moron made him an Ambassador?!?!?

And speaking of madmen, check this out from The Rapture Index, http://www.raptureready.com/rap16.html:

“In a joint press conference following their Tuesday White House meeting, Bush said that “Israel is a close friend and ally of the United States, and in the event of any attack on Israel, the United States will come to Israel’s aid. The United States is strongly committed, and I’m strongly committed, to the security of Israel as a vibrant, Jewish state.” (Bush vows to protect Israel from Iran, Jerusalem Post International , May. 25, 2006 0:12). ...

Yet, Bible prophecy makes it clear that such an attack is on the horizon of the future. And prophecies involved make it equally clear there will be no nation that will come to Israel’s defense. ...

We have gone over Ezekiel chapters 38 and 39 many times, about the attack from the north called the war of Gog-Magog. .... God’s Word says about the leader called Gog who will lead the forces –including Persia (modern Iran)—that will storm toward Israel:

And I will plead against him with pestilence and with blood; and I will rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that are with him, an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone.”

I agree with blogger Mace.  This person is a mad man.  He has the disposition of a child carrying the diagnosis Oppositional Defiant Disorder.  He opposes any approach with a hint of civility or respect.  He is a bully and as we all know, most bullies compensate for their insecurity and low opinion of themselves with overt aggressive behavior and by belittleing those around them.  There is documented evidence of his management style of the deprecation of others.  Perhaps his bullying and the unconscious psychological ego defence mechanism of compensation stems from bodily features akin to or similar to a vienna sausage.  He possesses the diplomatic skills of a nat and the compassion of the christian souls of the Spanish inquisition.

Comments from the recess-appointed, Kiss-UP, Kick-Down, voice of chicken-little (the sky is falling, the sky is falling).  And what’s that stuff on his upper lip?  Maybe he should do MORE kicking-down vice kissing-up, and wipe his lips occasionally! HA!

Whew… that’s such a mean personal comment… I am above this sort of thing (LoL).  Sorry folks couldn’t help but to take the cheap shot!

I don’t care for Bolton’s politics or his style; I’ve seen too many of his ilk in government.  He’d be better suited for a cubical at Langley where making up stuff to suit the executive-policy de-jure is par-for-the-course.

Sending this former State Department tyrant to the U.N. -further- erodes any credible argument that the U.S. embraces the U.N.‘s original charter.

Why not just rename the U.N. as “The State Department - New York Branch” and stop with the pretense it’s something other than what IT IS!

Powell didn’t care of Bolton much, and neither do I!

If in time all definitions must be revised, it would take another millennium to define John Bolton as one who even measures up to the base pretensions of what we know as Diplomacy. He brings to mind the character of O’Brien in 1984. Wherein the protagonist Winston Smith, who after enduring 9 months of torture asks himself during another interrogation “How do you prevail in an argument with a madman who is more intelligent than you?” He is truly a departure this Bolton, a man as obsessed as he is resolute and unforgiving. He is dangerous.
