Rumsfeld Lies About WMD Statement

Rumsfeld's WMDs

Donald Rumsfeld tries to lie his way out of previous claim about suspected WMD sites in Iraq.

The secretary of defense tries to rewrite history regarding his claim about “suspect sites” of Iraqi WMD.

This is the same thing that Ray McGovern nailed him on earlier in May.

ThinkProgress:

Last night on CNN’s Larry King Live, Donald Rumsfeld was asked about 27-year CIA veteran Ray McGovern, who recently told the Secretary of Defense he lied when he said he knew where the WMD were located in Iraq in March 2003. Rumsfeld refused to acknowledge his error and falsely claimed he was talking about “suspect sites.” Watch it:

Bush - Cowboy trying to get his language skills under control.

Rove- Political specialist who seems better at fixing elections than war

Cheney- Old heart patient who’s not getting enough blood to his brain.
Has more money than Bill Gates stuffed under his bed.

Rumsfield- Old warrior who is fighting the war before the last war. Will fit right in to Capital One commercial when he retires.

Which brings us to the big question?
Who is running this country.

Well...Unfortunately (for him) That’s Don Guantanamo’s story and it looks like he’s stickin’ too it. But personally, and without a protracted analysis I think that: If Saddam Hussein’s Ba’ath Regime had anything in the way of Nuclear, Biological or Chemical weapons and the infrastructure to support an strategic operation against Israel--Which with Iraq being virtually bankrupted with sanctions, and its economy thus in relative shambles--would have gained him nothing whatsoever; Sharon would have known about it in advance and the IDF would have been on him like a stink on shit. I think that’s obvious to anyone with the slightest conception of how Nations deal with one and other. But it’s said that when Don Guantanamo was a collegiate wrestler even when he was beaten he’d never quit. So, looks to me like he’s gonna go out hard. I’ve often thought about sending him a portrait of Robert MacNamara.

Rummy is a card!  I don’t know what to make of him.  He seems to actually believe his own rhetoric; don’t know if I can’t fault him for that - as I, too, believe my own rhetoric.

Of course I am not the Sec Def, and my rhetoric doesn’t get the country involved in a costly blood-bath (but maybe that’s a subtle difference - NOT!)

Seriously, though, Rummy is vaguely entertaining when he waxes poetically.  I wonder if the old goat is going to pull a ‘McNamara’ years from now, and write a book.

Powell should have been the Sec Def, and Rummy should have been Bush’s personal-aid.  Alas, no one asked for my opinion on appointments (sigh).

Gore won in 2000, anyway… so take that!

Herr Rumsfeld has lied so may times now that it just barely makes the news! Apparently, even CNN did not even pick up on it, or, the MSM is once again giving his ilk a pass.
