Now that Jean Rohe and her supporters have announced that they will not listen to anyone else’s opinions and will try to shout out and intimidate anyone who disagrees with them, I wonder when they plan to register for membership in the Republican Party. Or is it possible to be polite and classy and dissent at the same time? I guess to extremists on both sides, the answer is, “No.”

I am curious why Jean did not ask for political asylum when she made it to Cuba rather that return to this hellish police state. Maybe Cuban banks wouldn’t honor her parents’ charge card?

Jean,
Report thisNot being as highly as educated or am I considered as intelligence as one of your high education.
I don’t know which of these would apply;
A. I could comment you
B. Laugh at you
C. Curse you.
But from a bit of hind-sight and a bit of experience.
I would like to ask you;
“Where do you see yourself ten years from now?”
Will you be like those that protest in the sixties many did it out of fear that they might have to suspense their education.
Others out fear of fear itself.
Now those that protest, have joined main-stream America.
Many are now in government, the very government that your looking down on.
Many of those were protesting back than.
Now for the lack of a great education as yours.
They’re kissing what we call a “6”.
Look that up on any military site and you will know what I’m speaking about here.
Some of those back than are now stealing the valor of men better than them.
Some have taken to wearing medals awarded to our wounded.
No this country isn’t perfect, but you don’t have to stand in line for hours to get some toilet paper.
Think hard about that.
Than tell me that you were heroic on attacking a speaker invited by the university that you have just graduated from.
If I live that long, will I see you in government?
Will somebody than make a speech such as yours?
I pray not.

She’s an idiot:
She wrote that:
“Quote:
Later, John McCain arrived in the green room, and with the encouragement of Laurie Anderson, another honoree, Christina and I introduced ourselves to him. I almost wanted to warn the guy that I was about to make him look like an idiot so that he would at least have a fighting chance and an extra moment to change his speech to save himself. But he didn’t even make eye contact when we shook hands, so I figured I didn’t owe him anything.”
However:
Report thisa reliable source who was in the room recalls Ms. Rohe giving her camera to a friend so that she could take a picture of her posing with the Senator. Senator McCain gladly posed for a picture with her - arm in arm - in which they were both smiling.

Hilirious that the extreme right (you know, those same people who used to celebrate Rachel Corrie’s death or refer to Cindy Sheehan contemptously as “mother Sheehan") are now the advocates of “civility”.
But it’s not suprising. People should look for a book by Benjamin DeMott called “Junk Politics”. He has a brilliant description of how “civility” is used by authoritarians to stifle dissent.
It’s just funny to watch all these authoritarian right-wing assholes parrot exactly what they’ve been programmed to parrot.

Jean Rohe is just another snotty liberal kid. What she did is anything but “brave.” How brave is it to stand in front of a crowd you know is in agreement with you, and then blast someone you don’t agree with? She said in her speech that we have no one to fear on this entire planet, but she also criticized Bush for not catching bin Laden. I wonder what she thinks ought to be done about bin Laden when he is caught, since we have no one to fear on this planet?

Rohe, just another rude, classless liberal. No surprise here. Wasn’t it Lenin who wanted a classless society. Well, Rohe is certainly classless, in the strictest perjorative sense.

This young woman gives me hope for a better future. She and others such as our hilarious and charming Stephen Colbert and the couragous gentleman, Ray McGovern are all exemplars of mythical courage and dignity. They are truly heroes. I love them for their courage.

I was disheartened to learn that this “patriot” spent a summer in Cuba where she “met some of her dearest friends”. She does not have any integrity, rather she is just another communist loving idealist.

I think what Jean Rohe did was despicable, yet the Angry Left’s lack of class probably made this encounter all but inevitable.
Way to go Jean! You should be ashamed of yourself.

Jean Rohe is a true patriot. These self serving empty suites called politicians along with the corrupt and cowardly corporate media elite have let down this country very badly.
Report thisBut brave souls like Jean Rohe give us hope that decent human beings can make a difference and hold these arrogant leaders accountable.

Jean, I suspect you feel personally very saddened to encounter a “leader” so diminished it is necessary to look down in order to see him.
And what do you find when you do look down ?
One thinks of “talking heads” filled with fear, and greedy fists.
Thank you for your integrity.
Integrity, essential to Democracy in America, is currently missing from The Press, from Congress, from the Court, and most absent inside the White House.
Thank you for showing it is not lost everwhere.
