Jon Stewart: ‘Holy Crap, We’re Going to War With Iran’

Jon Stewart and Rumsfeld

Jon Stewart, a student of Rummy-speak.

After Donald Rumsfeld dismissed reports of a possible strike on Iran by mockingly saying, “Henny penny the sky is falling…” Jon Stewart spanked the secretary of defense with a clip of him using the same phrase three years ago—to mock the idea that Iraq was descending into chaos.

Crooks and Liars:

Jon Stewart took a look at the response from the White House over Sy Hersh’s article that discusses a possible nuclear strike on Iran.

Rumsfeld: Henny penny the sky is falling…

Rummy used the same expression when talking about early reports of violence in Iraq back on April, 11th 2003. Guess what that means?

Stewart: Holy crap we’re going to war with Iran…

RE Chris man: perhaps all these facts are correct.

However, they are largely in due part to the efforts of Iraqis to lend some strength and stability to their own country, which I might add, the US removed sometime around 2003.  Now if you guys want to claim credit for all the things THE IRAQIS have been doing amongst themselves, that’s just fine. But let’s just keep in mind that prior to 2003 there were close to no terrorists in Iraq and damn well no significant Al-Quaida presence.

I always thought that the military’s job was to make us safer, not screw us over. I’m such a naiive individual.

Well, since even the MSM can’t hide the fact that GW’s numbers are abbysmal - they’ll have to do SOMETHING to distract everyone from the fiasco in Iraq, incredible (even for Republicans) deficits, the crappy economy - no matter what their reports show, swarming illegal immigration, irrational gas prices (it is the OIL administration, after all), etc….. so why not bomb Iran?  And it won’t have ANYTHING to do with the OIL there, will it.  But KBR and Halliburton will be capable at short notice to “help out” again with more no-bid contracts. And the administration will continue to hound whistleblowers while ignoring their own criminality. Sigh - I miss Ol’ Bill - who cares about the B.J.,anyway???  It seems kind of corny to make such a big deal about that - and pretty crappy that they won’t even investigate, much less impeach, the current joker.  What’s worse? - a little side nookie - or lies, death, torture, coverups, unserved National Guard duty in wartime, no-bid contracts in spite of obvious conflicts of interest, Hurricane Katrina, and so on…Heaven help us! We’ve been invaded and taken over by extreme right wing, hypocritical hyper-religious war mongers. They do not even comprehend the words “Peace”, “Compassion” or “Conservative”. They do NOT represent the citizens of this great nation, only themselves, and it’s showing. Too bad the till will be emptied and the “farm” sold, before the American people finally wake up. I’m keepin’ my fingers crossed - it’s about all I can do, it seems.

Holy Crap!!!

What next???

If anyone strikes Iran shouldn’t it be Israel?  They have been threatened by Iran.  It would not solidify more muslim hatred upon us.  We could return to a more nobler posture, one based on diplomacy with the pursuit of PEACE as an objective.

Oh, I forgot that was pre Bush, pre preemptive strikes and we are the now the only ones who will stoop to anything but PEACE.

I remember something that ended until there is no enemy but, PEACE.  That wasn’t suppose to mean that peace is the enemy.

I am a loser because I oppose democracy in Iraq.

I oppose the unilateral invasion of another country.

I oppose lying to the entire world to justify the unilateral invasion of another country.

I oppose massive bombing campaigns that spread depleted uranium over an entire country.

I oppose the spending of billions of dollars to destroy of a country’s infrastructure only to spend billions more to no-bid contracts to insider corporations to rebuild their infrastructure.

I oppose the massive propapganda campaign that convinced half of the American people to falsely beleive that Iraq was a threat to the U.S.

I oppose the feeble-minded who learn the ways of the world by simply reading headlines and who never look beyond a few numbers.

ONE SOLDIER DYING IN IRAQ IS ONE SOLDIER TOO MANY.

SWEET LIBERATION: TO BE BOMBED, BLOWN UP, GUNNED DOWN, CHILDREN KILLED, HOMES DESTROYED, LITTLE WATER, ELECTRICITY. AH, SWEET LIBERATION, BUSH STYLE.

Just wondering if anyone noticed that
- US combat deaths in Iraq are down for five months running.
- Iraqi military combat deaths are down for three months running
- Iraqi police deaths are stable for three months running
- Iraqi civilian deaths are down for seven months running

- insurgents’ death rates keep on going up
- foreign jihadis infiltration rates are at 1/3 what they were before the clean-up operation along the Syrian border last year.

- the government is beginning to get its feet under it.

In other words, we’re winning. Slowly but surely we, and the Iraqis, are winning.

You’re only a loser if you oppose democracy in Iraq.

Holy crap, why am I not surprised?

Because I like to read, because by reading about the history of the turbulet region one can accurately predict what will eventually happen there better than the average hurricane expert, because this hurricane about to sweep the middle east is history repeating itself, and because such was the agenda of the mega-corporations that rule us… so much so that it took a pathetic election fraud with the perfect scapegoat of all:

A moron with iniciative.
