Nuclear Showdown in NevadaPosted on Apr 20, 2006
The government will detonate a massive amount of conventional explosives to figure out the math on a tactical nuclear weapon—perhaps to be used on Iran, warns Air America host Randi Rhodes.

The Liberal Solution to Iran is dialog and negotiation to getting Iran to allow another country to create its nuclear fuel for it, and then the opening up an exchange of culture, ideas and trade to promote reforms from within, so that Iran need not pursue nuclear weapons.
The Conservative Solution to Iran is to bomb them with nuclear weapons to that Iran can not pursue nuclear weapons.
Which is a better way?

Wasn’t that Clintins policy with Al Quada ... hmmm, that didn’t go too well.

I disagree with you Tony. The “conservative” solution would be more like, over throw the nation, plant a dictator there, (as we did with Sadam), invest heavily in particular companies that will gouge the crap out of the tax payers for the weapons, then use the bought and paid for media puppets to make the public think we have to pre-emptively attack them to save our “way of life”. (After all it is THE TAXPAYERS sons and daughters that will fight and die there, so the masses must buy it all hook line and sinker). The war pigs and armchair generals children never go to war.
By the way Tony, if “pre-emptive war” is ok with you, I wonder how you feel about “pre-emptive arrest”. I guess that would be good for you, as long as its not you or your children being hauled off to a over seas prison camp, without any due process, right to trial, representation, or even the ability to see the evidence. Better think about whom you support. Your children and grand children may end up fighting in the streets decades from now to regain the rights you and others relinquish now. Ask yourself how will they fight against INTENSE surveillance, high tech, armored, suburban warfare designed weapons? The blurring of the police and military now roles are not an accident. Citizens who dare exercise their right to question or dissent are already treated as the enemy.
America is INDEED under attack right now. We are being tricked into throwing away the freedoms for the promise of “protection” (from what used to be issolated, rare risks), while watching our “leaders” create more danger in the world than has ever existed in all of human history.
Who will protect us from our own government, if we allow all checks and balances to be removed? And ... how can we ever be safe in a world where so many nations now hate us?
Our only real protection is to show the world as a people that we will not stand for this raw abuse of power, and take our nation back, try the criminals for High Treason, War Crimes, Crimes against Humanity and Crimes against the Environment. Its our nation; its our responsibility as a people to regain control of its direction, and NEVER let this mess happen again.

I have been around the world. Europe a minimum of 8 times. Since 2004 being an American is not as fun abroad. Bush makes all of us look bad.
I was at the hurricane katrina bush / clinton relief kick off and to show you out of touch the bushes are with society. Bush senior was asked a question (mind you this is at a disaster relief) and he starts of by saying “when I was a young man drilling for oil off the coast of texas” everyone in the press room looked around like huh. That has nothing to do with what you where asked. Well needless to say I watched and did not see this on CNN or the reaction when someone asked about levee’s being broken on purpose. Perhaps the message being delivered by the June 2nd, high yield non-nuclear weapons test is that the U.S. can “bust” bunkers in Iran without using nuclear weapons.

If the Senate Intelligence Committee had complied with it’s constitutional duties, rather than expediting Bush’s appointments of two far right Supreme Court justices, they would have first convened hearings on Bush’s ongoing and illegal domestic surveillance operations. And then on his manipulation of cherry-picked intell to mislead our nation into invading Iraq.
Congress enabled Bush’s endless War on Terror, with no effective government oversight, and now Congress appears willing to allow Bush to attack Iran.
Call your U.S. Senator and demand that the Department of Energy cancel the June 2nd Divine Strake low-yield nuclear simulation.
Democratic Party leaders in the Senate and the House need to get on top of this issue and stop Bush from initiating any conceivable use of nuclear weapons anywhere.
If the Democrats are any different from the lying bozos who got us into this mess, then now’s the time for them to prove it.
What are they waiting for?

Do we need more evidence that this president is insane? Threatening leaders of nations did not work before, why should it work now? When bush’s bluff is called, this time it could mean the destruction of the world. Hey! Isn’t that what bush and the right wing really want anyway? We speak of the suicide bombers and their desire for 74 virgins, what’s in it for bush?

It should be the lead story of the day, with reference to Sy Hersh’s recent work.
