From ThinkProgress

NASA scientist James Hansen says that in three decades of government work, he has “never witnessed such restrictions on the ability of scientists to communicate with the public.”

ThinkProgress:

Yesterday, 60 Minutes aired a powerful segment documenting how the Bush administration has muzzled the government’s top global warming researcher, James Hansen. Watch an excerpt:

Transcript:

HANSEN: In my more than three decades in the government, I’ve never witnessed such restrictions on the ability of scientists to communicate with the public.

... And I object to the fact that I’m not able to freely communicate via the media. National Public Radio wanted to interview me, and they were told they would need to instead interview someone at NASA headquarters. And the comment was made that they didn’t want Jim Hansen going on the most liberal media in the nation. So, I don’t think that kind of decision should be made on that kind of basis. I think we should be able to communicate the science.

I think that Kevin Pillips got it right when he explains that Americans don’t have to worry about anything because after all “Jesus is comming soon”, meaning that he will clean everything and make everything whole again.....

Stupidity is chosen, I’ve come to realize.  The morons in the WhiteWashed House have flushed their minds, ethics, and humanity down the toilet, and they all watched it go down.  The guy who flushed the hugest log won a prize, and now he sits in the Oval Office.

Please Americans...T H I N K!  The top climatologists in the world submit their extensive research to the White House and lawyers edit out many of the important facts that effect the whole world!

Maybe Mr Hansen would benefit by having an ‘expert’ on global warming such as George Will as his publicist. Will got his pseudo-faux-scientific opinion about global warming on TV. Now, when will Will confine his remarks to something he knows the facts about, so those truly ‘in the know’ can air evidence rather than just opinion?

Again, no big surprises here - if evolution is tossed out the window, why not climate science also?  The morons in Washington DC either slept through science class or skipped it altogether ( all they could find were their dental and pay records....) so it has no meaning for them.  How comfortable and convenient for them, but the problem with scientific observations is that they are dealing with facts - Truth - another subject those guys didn’t pay much attention to in school.  Facts can be suppressed, spun, denied, but they cannot be wished away simply because they are politically inconvenient. As with everything, it would have been simpler, easier and cheaper to deal with global warming in the beginning. But that was “bad for bidness”. Their style seems to be deny, lie, cover up..... Haul in the dough and then blame the “liberal media” when they’re caught out.
All the while demanding that everyone (except them) accept responsibility.  Sad...scary...insane. What next?
