The Campaign Ad the GOP Won’t Run

Anti-Albright ad
From YouTube

“Airplane” director David Zucker has produced a satirical ad criticizing the Clinton administration’s dealings with North Korea that is so inflammatory that GOP strategists have refused to use it in campaigns.

Watch it:

Drudge Report via Whizbang:

The DRUDGE REPORT has obtained an exclusive copy of a “scary” campaign advertisement created by Hollywood producer and director David Zucker that was intended to be used by GOP organizations in the closing weeks of the 2006 campaign.

However, the advertisement was deemed “too hot” by GOP strategists all across Washington, DC who have refused to use it!

... One GOP strategist said “jaws dropped” when the ad was first viewed. “Nobody could believe Zucker thought any political organization could use this ad. It makes a point, but it’s way over the top.”

I think Democrats should run it.  With a few simple additions, like a person in the background saying “What?  A simple basketball kept him from developing nuclear weapons for six years into a “do nothing” Republican Administration?  Hmmm.”

Better play nice, boys and girls. Someone might just do a little “satire” featuring Rummy, Reagan, and Saddam. You all remember Rummy kissing up to Saddam when the former was Reagan’s Special Envoy to Iraq?
Or better yet, how about a comedy featuring Bush the First, transfering chemical and bio weapons technology to Saddam, right up to the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait?
Lots of dirt, so little time.

They couldn’t even get the blown embassy right. That is the US Embassy in Kenya NOT Tanzania

This is a wretched, but all too typical, product of the idiotic radical right.

All that the radical right can manage is ridicule and personal insult. They mock Ms. Albright’s appearance, and defame her with lies about her policies and accomplishments.

Only an imbecile could truly think that the current administration’s record is in any way close to, let alone better than, Clinton’s.

Isn’t anyone else shocked by the fact that this ad is totally unfunny?

Maybe Zucker was the dud of the group all along, but this doesn’t even have a hint of the wit of Airplane, Top Secret or Police Squad. It’s like the latter naked gun movies, half-assed impressions of world leaders being “wacky.”

It’s just boring.

This film is only another step toward persuading Americans that we should go to war with Korea.

So they sedated him with a basketball. Shouldn’t that underscore the current admin.’s inabilities in the realm of diplomacy rather than its former’s?

Who says fascists don’t have a sense of humor?

But of course there was not one fact, nor reason, nor logic displayed so we are assured most Ameriscum will buy it.

I couldn’t stop laughing. “Is your safety on that thing?...or are just happy to see me!”

Nothing wrong with poking fun at the “Dear Leader” and Madeline Albright, except it was not particularly clever or funny. One would expect something better than the typical YouTube fare out of Zucker.

I’m not too sure you want to go around hugging Mr. Bin Laden.  One time in Northern Turkey I ran into him and Bill O’Reilly at a mobile falafel stand.  When I hugged Lady-boy (that’s what Bill calls him) I felt something huge digging into my thigh.  It wasn’t his A-K, if you know what I mean.  That man has a crank as long as my arm and he’s not afraid to use it.  I managed to sneak out the bathroom window, but the next day I detected a little “special sauce” in my pork chop sandwich.

Zucker should have directed Path to 9/11. It wouldn’t have been any more factual, but it might at least have been funny. (It would probably have gotten much higher ratings as well.)

The only improvement that could be made to this ad would be if Kim was playing basketball with Albright. That would have been even funnier.
