Hastert on Foley Warnings: ‘I Don’t Remember…’Posted on Oct 3, 2006
House Speaker Dennis Hastert says he doesn’t remember Rep. Tom Reynolds warning him about Mark Foley last spring. (via FireDogLake) Incredible. In the literal sense of the word.

Hastert doesn’t remember being warned and I bet his constituency doesn’t remember why they voted for him.
Tell me, can you get away with sexual affairs during working hours in your place of employment? Isn’t anybody accountable for anything?
Instead of warning pages to ignore the pedophile they should have called him out immediately. Imagine a public school teacher sending IMs to students. Then imagine the superintendent of the school system saying: “well they were naughty messages but he never touched them”. Un-friggin-believable!

Of course he doesn’t remember - he had so many things to worry about like how his property assets jumped to more than $6.0 million. The main thing on this mind at the time though was the “Annual Running of the Hastert” held every spring in the halls of Congress. The interns will miss it! And so will Hastert! Back to Pamplona!

They think it’s all a game of Musical Chairs--who is left standing when the music stops? Right now, it’s between Hastert and Reynolds, but I think they don’t realize--the Musical Chairs game is missing a lot more chairs than they realize.
The funny thing, is the VOTERS may make the decision for them.
That Bill O’Reilly clip was hilarious. When was Bill EVER afraid to over-ride a guest and say they’re full of shit? Especially when they aren’t? But Nazi-Ann Coulter? He’s mild and polite and doesn’t say “but Ann, he was asking them to get naked. He was discussing masturbation techniques. He wanted kisses.” He kinda tried--but I think it was a Bill O’Reilly look-alike--much too nice.
And Coulter? Defending Foley for being GAY? How outer-space is that? I guess they still think that Dems and most Americans don’t know the difference between being Gay, and being a CHILD MOLESTER! Most Gays aren’t molesters any more than most Straights. A child molester is a criminal. Period. And a heluva lot more Straights are molesters than Gays (because there are so many more).
Nazi-Ann is just a cunt. And a nasty one at that. Since Matt Drudge is singing the same song it’s no wonder he was screwing her.

“… it is so sick that we need to exercise capital punishment to all those found guilty.”
Hold on, now. We need someone left to vote!
It’s really history repeating itself. Eventually, it seems to me, PROFESSIONAL politicans become corrupted in one way or another. First, a little white lie, then a grey one, then comes one whopper after another. It’s clear now that NONE OF THEM CAN TELL A LIE FROM THE TRUTH.
How about we limit ALL political positions from school boards to the Presidency to ONE TERM of a MAXIMUM 3 years… and all will be paid a STIPEND which would ensure they don’t lose money for taking on the job, but that they don’t MAKE money over above what they were earning before being elected. Perhaps those who run under those conditions might be focussed more on serving the PEOPLE instead of themselves.

The corrupting of our youths.
It is not enough that they have plundered TRILLIONS from our national treasury, robbing the next several generations of advances in health care, and educational services that will make our nation strong and competitive for the 21st century. No, it is not enough for them to dumb down our kids and lure them into fighting this immoral war to increase their stature and financial holdings. And it’s not even enough that the untold amount of blood of our young is spilt in their name, every single day, as thousands more are severely maimed, and psychologically damaged for the rest of their lives. And it is not enough that they have taken away our civil liberties, one by one, and shaming our nation by legalizing torture, setting our moral compass back 50 years or more. And now… they want the right to molest and rape our kids too? Do they want every man, woman and child to line up and gleefully bend over? It is not enough that they have desecrated our Constitution and Declaration of Independence, now they want to legalize the perversion of our morality and the corruption of our kids too? Is this what is going on? Is it worse then we all think? I hope our houses of congress don’t turn out to be nothing more than a front for a grand bordello where unscrupulous parents bring their kids as sexual offerings to those in power. I hope this is not true, and if it is, it is so sick that we need to exercise capital punishment to all those found guilty. We need to be certain and know for sure how long this blatant selling of flesh has been going on? How many more Mark Foley’s are out there? How many more pages, males and females, had to whore themselves since childhood, as they move up the ladder? How many of these make it to the top and use their position of power to seduce and coerce other young minds and bodies, taking pleasure in corrupting them, turning them into perverted whores and slavish pimps for generations and generations to come. This is repugnant. It is said that abused kids grow up to be abusers themselves...If this is so, we need to purge our houses, all of them, Dems and Repubs.

I wonder if Hastert would be still be wishy-washy about this if Foley had made “advances” towards his children or grandchildren. I think he’d be singing a different tune.

Sinking deep into the moral quagmire,,,
BW photograph of a truly shameless moment. There’s a deep sadness here—layers upon layers upon layers of meaning in this iconic Buffalo News photo that perfectly sums up and symbolizes the whole damn Foleygate scandal, which has rapidly moved beyond the “merely” sleazy, salacious and corrupt. Now it’s an utterly surreal, blame-shifting mass abdication of all personal responsibility.
Above all, there’s the deep, visible moral rot that anyone can see. Look at the children in the photo. Look at the man (Rep. Reynolds) at the microphone. See the face of a party that uses children to score “family values” points but doesn’t give a damn. At all.

If the Speaker of the House is not able to remember this kind of thing then it seems obvious to me that he is also not competent to perform his job. But of course, he probably did remember it, and is just CYA-ing.
