Fashionistas are a funny lot, sometimes unintentionally so, and often given to talking about the rag trade and all things stylish in highfalutin’ terms. Some crafty editing has put Russian President Vladimir Putin behind bars and awaiting trial in a viral YouTube video that ought to excite tens of thousands of Muscovites who took to the streets in recent months to protest legislative elections and Putin’s upcoming attempt to preserve his office.

Being a Catholic himself, Stephen Colbert is able to break down for the layperson (read: godless liberal) the Vatican’s stance on contraception, which recently became a hot-button (read: wedge) issue for Campaign 2012.

To hear House Speaker John Boehner tell it, as he does in this clip, the “political games” that were clearly happening in recent months over the payroll tax cut and jobless benefits bill that’s now en route to passage were all coming from the Democratic side.

In this clip from his axed Fox Business show, “Freedom Watch,” Judge Andrew Napolitano asks some questions that may be too advanced for the average viewer of the Murdochian network—or any habitual viewer of any major network looking to absorb the latest talking points and get on with her day.

Let’s see which gullible politician might pick up this little satirical number from The Onion News Network and think it’s for real. Meanwhile, the rest of us can enjoy a good spoof on campaign ads at President Obama’s expense.

American cultural historian and social critic Morris Berman shared the findings in his new book “Why America Failed: The Roots of Imperial Decline” with an audience at Seattle’s Elliot Bay bookstore last fall. Once in a while, Bill O’Reilly strays from the expected Fox News formula and surprises us with his politics, as he did in this clip from Monday’s “O’Reilly Factor,” in which he compares the bid by the conservative women’s group One Million Moms to boycott J.C. Penney for picking Ellen DeGeneres as its spokeswoman to McCarthyist witch hunts of the ’50s. Updated

Hey, everyone, it’s Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee! Even if you’re not much of a royal-watcher, a rather puzzling pastime for some Americans and a royal snooze as far as we’re concerned, the woman has reigned in the U.K. during a significant swath of recent history. Let’s review.
