When Dmitry Met Bono
Posted on Aug 25, 2010
Russian President Dmitry Medvedev took some time away from the Kremlin on Tuesday to chill at his resort home by the Black Sea, sip tea and talk saving the world and whatnot with U2’s do-gooder frontman Bono. Here we have an example of 21st century celebri-plomacy at its star-struck best.
Meanwhile, we’re amused by the AP’s characterization of Medvedev as “a well-known fan of the classic rock acts Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin.” Good to know that Russia’s president and every 13-year-old boy in America have something in common. —KA

You are doing important things, because taking care of people is not only a job for politicians,” Medvedev said.
