Spike Lee on BP: Obama Shouldn’t Have Trusted Execs

It’s hardly a surprise that Spike Lee would have something provocative to say about a newsy controversy, but Lee doesn’t spare President Obama his criticism over Obama’s handling of the BP oil spill catastrophe in an interview with GQ scribe Mark Healy. Lee also believes that the location of the spill had something to do with the administration’s less-than-mercurial disaster response.  —KA

“[Former BP president Tony] Hayward does not give a [bleep]. The thing we don’t talk about is that 11 Americans lost their lives and it took seven weeks to invite their families to the White House. I’m not trying to bash my man, but that’s a long time.”
