Rolling Stone’s Hastings Bags Book Deal
Posted on Jul 6, 2010
Rolling Stone scribe Michael Hastings is still riding high from his big score about “Runaway General” Stanley McChrystal—who has, it should again be noted, been obliged to evacuate the scene of the story since the piece was published—and now, despite some speculation that he’d have a problem gaining access to the likes of McChrystal again, Hastings might have another hit on his hands in the form of a book about Afghanistan. According to The Huffington Post’s Jason Linkins, Hastings has made a deal with Little, Brown & Co. to publish his upcoming work on that mess of a war. —KA
The Huffington Post via Gawker:
The press release reads as follows:
A forthcoming UNTITLED book by renowned journalist Michael Hastings, author of the Rolling Stone article “The Runaway General” which revealed shocking truths about General McChrystal and the war in Afghanistan, that promises an unprecedented behind-the-scenes account of America’s longest war, to Geoff Shandler, Editor in Chief, Little, Brown and Company, by Scott Moyers at the Wylie Agency.
It boy: Rolling Stone reporter Michael Hastings talks about his McChrystal article in a recent “Democracy Now!” interview.
