Sarah Palin Scares Danny Elfman Into Politics

If you don’t know Danny Elfman, you know his music. Better known for his unique film scores and “The Simpsons” theme than his political views, the composer is running an ad in battleground states with a simple message: “President Sarah Palin—think about it.”

We are in the last days of what is likely to be the most important election of our lives. This is especially true given the current crises at home and abroad and the fact that at least one, and likely two Supreme Court Justices are likely to be up for retirement in this next term. (Justice Stevens, one of the last liberal jurors on the court is 88 this year) The potential implications of that alone are staggering. For more on that check out this New Yorker article.

I appreciate that the Democrats aren’t stooping to the level that the McCain campaign and its friends have (even Karl Rove has said that the GOP has gone too far this year!). But I wasn’t seeing responses from the Democrats that were nailing some simple messages that I felt were important.

That’s why I decided to take action. It didn’t take long to realize that I knew many others that I knew who were as frustrated and committed as I was and I thought why can’t we just do it ourselves instead of just complaining?
