Wyclef Jean is overcome with emotion at a news conference in New York in January while discussing his visit to quake-stricken Haiti.

Former Fugee Wyclef Jean is making the most of his professed intent to become president of his native Haiti. Since announcing his bid for Haiti’s highest office, he’s met some resistance, including from an irked Sean Penn (is there any other kind?), and now he claims he’s had to go into “hiding” because of death threats from unknown hostile sources. So Haiti has a commission which decides who’s “allowed” to run. Who picks the commission? (Don’t tell me. The CIA.)

I was almost ready to root for Jean based on his obvious emotional tie to his country. But I guess he’s just another pansy-ass entertainer with delusions of grandeur.

Poor Wyclef just receieved a dose of REAL LIFE. This clown supported the 2004 US-backed coup against Aristide and is now discovering the consequences of supporting those kinds of policies. Ouch.
