RFK and Monroe
Keya Gallery via Legman LA

Click on “Legman LA” in the credit above to see the photograph in full frame, which shows Robert Kennedy at Marilyn Monroe’s right and John Kennedy at her left.

Given the scuttlebutt about Marilyn Monroe and the Kennedy brothers (well, two of them, anyway), not to mention the murder and conspiracy theories still circulating about her untimely death, it makes some sense that there’d be few, if any, candid images of the screen siren with either Bobby or Jack Kennedy. So we were surprised to see that a shot of the three together has popped up. It’s evidently a twofer when it comes to the Kennedy boys, as RFK and JFK flank a sparkly Monroe in the photo. Legman LA has the full story—and the full picture, which is making the rounds to a Los Angeles gallery in June.  —KA

Legman LA:

The image depicting JFK and Robert Kennedy from behind with Marilyn between the brothers in severe profile was taken by JFK’s personal photographer, Cecil Stoughton, on May 19, 1962 and given the circumstances, he certainly could have gotten a better shot. That is unless there was some reason JFK didn’t want to be photographed with the star. We hear there are conspiratorial notions surrounding the subject.

He refused to commit mass murder by atomic war and refused to support military aggression - over and over again. He was courageous. And horny. I’m proud of him for his achievements, including mounting Marilyn.

@commune:
Sir, I am a Limousine Liberal (in fact, my limousine was given to me by none other than Edward Kennedy himself) and you have offended both myself and my driver, Pepe.  How dare you!  And your ignorance on the matter of utopia is obvious, as it was not President Kennedy who held that potentiality, but President Nixon, and who, I’m proud say, ushered in a Shangri-La republic that has persisted to this day.  Without the trillions of dollars and we spend on our military and in the keeping down of the homosexuals, I shudder to think was moral chaos this blessed country might descend into.

Why is Truthdig publishing utterly worthless news? First, who cares, and second, this photo has been around for years and published in numerous books about the Kennedys or the era such as “Official And Confidential: The Secret Life Of J.Edgar Hoover” by Anthony Summers. At least this wasn’t another delusional article by some limousine liberal trying to sell JFK as some sort of messiah for peace who was gunned down before he could usher in utopia.
