King and Gaga

King goes Gaga: At least the exiting CNN host had his chance to take a crack at loopster Lady Gaga before hanging it up.

Turns out the rumors are true: CNN is soon going to drop “Larry King Live” from its lineup. The Suspendered One announced Tuesday that he’ll retire this fall after 25 years with the show to spend more time with his family, but he will stay with the cable channel for other projects.  —KA

“On the Air” in Variety:

After weeks of speculation, Larry King has confirmed that he’s stepping down from his CNN talk show, “Larry King Live,” after 25 years.

King first broke the news himself via his Twitter account.

Big Deal.

Hey, did you notice that there’s oil still gushering into the Gulf of Mexico?  You know, something like the Exxon Valdeze every few days.  Kind of a boring story.  Oil still gushering.  BP still lying.  Our Government still seemingly more interested in protecting BP than in protecting us.

But, let’s get back to Mr. I must be a newsman (and so must Lady Gaga) because I wear these suspenders like they did when I was a pup back in 1940 when DiMaggio was swinging for the heavens, and before the Dodgers moved to L.A….

I was under the impression that he had passed away in early 2004 of prostate cancer.

F* Larry King. Hope he withers away in his 8th marriage and disappears from the
face of the earth once and for all.

I wish the same for a few others including Rush Limbaugh.

Gawd, when was the last time I watched Larry King ... the early 90’s?  Didn’t even know he was still on the air.

That’s one of the benefits of having blocked CNN, FAUX, MSNBC et al from the TV set using the parental blocking controls.  I view such a block as important as my firewall.  Some things are hazardous to your health if viewed.  Mental Viruses.

Larry King stayed around a few years too long.  His fate in some ways represents the current position of CNN. They rely either on shows like his (snowball questions) or the futile crossfire type of format. Jon Stewart took them to task on that years ago.  I found it interesting to hear on Countdown last night that Larry King had pushed CNN to hire Olberman for the 8pm slot but they had obviously had other ideas in mind. We know how that decision turned out.
