Hollywood Republicans: Rare, but Still TherePosted on Feb 13, 2012
The Hollywood Republican is an uncommon breed, and many specimens apparently feel that their chosen professional habitat does not allow them to proliferate as freely as their less conservative counterparts. But sightings are more common during election season, and sure enough, a few have already popped up to give their takes on who should become President Obama’s main competitor for the White House this time around. Let’s have a look-see. —KA

Pretty unsurprising really. I mean to say there is so little difference between mainstream dems n rethugs on any substantive issue; why wouldn’t the celebrity airheads tack their faces onto the padded asses of rethugs as well?
Gotta sell that movie/book/album.
The Ron Paul backers are the most pitiful. In 2016 or 2020 when Rand Paul races into pennsylvannia ave with landslide support then demolishes the last vestiges of state and federal infrastructure, all the while encouraging corporations to move into the newly vacated territory of ‘law’ enforcement and military; alla the Juliette Lewis type birdbrains will have some serious shit to answer for.

Ron Paul supporters are correct about a very
Report thisimportant issue: the Constitution - and the need
to return to more limited powers, especially in
making war. And that is an important issue,
maybe the most important issue, because the
empire we’re becoming is swallowing the
democratic republic we were meant to be.

I think the thing that bothers conservatives and republicans about the “liberalness” of Hollywood is the fact that entertainment business is one of the few industries that doesn’t receive government handouts and bailouts and it’s still successful. It must be quite a poke in the eye to know that “all them there liberals are the real capitalists!” That must hurt…
As vector56 says below, the whole “liberal media” canard is a bunch of bullshit.

lets not forget sonny bono and that guy from the love boat fred grandy.
also, Vince Vaughn stumping for ron paul is not exactly an actor rooting for rick santorum or rick perry or some other GOP jack in the box.
Im sure Vince can direct some pretty good points to his “liberal” friends about why Obama sucks and that what Ron Paul is saying is actually fairly rational.

Barack Obama and George Bush are in a dead heat for worst president of my lifetime. I don’t think supporting a candidate who is running a campaign on ending the wars in the middle east and fighting corporatism in America makes you, or Vince Vaughn a Republican. Not going to click any links to HuffPost.

“The Hollywood Republican is an uncommon breed, and many specimens apparently feel that their chosen professional habitat does not allow them to proliferate as freely as their less conservative counterparts.”
Lets see; Ronald Wilson Reagan, Governor of California; President of the United States; de facto conservative Dem-God.
Arnold Alois Schwarzenegger; Governor of California.
Clint Eastwood; Mayor of Carmel-by-the-Sea, California.
Now, consider the Liberal “Hollywood” types who have held public office? Martin Sheen does not count although he played a heck of a president on TV.
Like the “myth” of the “Liberal Media” this is yet another attempt at misdirection by the right.
