GLAAD Awards Celebrate Ricky, Anderson and Other Media FriendsPosted on Mar 22, 2011
Ricky Martin, “Anderson Cooper 360,” “True Blood,” Oprah’s O magazine, Essence.com, comic book writer Peter David, “30 Rock,” Frank Rich, The Denver Post and Russell Simmons are among the winners of this year’s Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation Awards. More winners will be announced in the coming months. The full list of honorees can be found here. Below, Martin says “I just wanna be free” and urges GLAAD to “spread the love” to Latin America. Simmons and Al Sharpton talk about the importance of taking action outside one’s comfort zone, when it’s inconvenient, and their challenge to hip-hop and religious leaders to embrace civil rights for all.

Culheath, thanks but I tried watching a bunch of times but couldn’t do it.If its two women, then I’ll make popcorn, but two guys just doesn’t cut it.Your study on the two soldiers was enlightning though.Guess I don’t fully understand my own mind yet.

What is a hetero-guy supposed to do to overcome this affliction?
Simple…expose yourself to gay themed movies or serials with male/male kissing. The chunk hurling reaction dissipates really quickly.
There was an interesting experiment done a few years ago where hetero men were shown two posters, one showing an American and a Russian soldier engaged in anal intercourse and the other other showing the soldiers kissing. When asked to rate the two posters in terms of disgust, the overwhelming response by was the kissing scene. Go figure.
