Looks like pursuing opportunities outside her former gubernatorial post is paying off for Sarah Palin. After she shopped her pitch for an “unscripted” television show about Alaska around heathen Hollywood, a winner, Discovery Communications, appears to have pulled ahead of Palin’s other suitors, and, according to Variety, honchos at the cable channel are willing to pay handsomely to bring “Sarah Palin’s Alaska” to a television near you.  —KA

Variety:

Show is believed to have fetched more than $1 million an episode—a hefty pricetag for a freshman unscripted cable skein.

But this, of course, is not just your average unscripted cable skein. The controversial Palin is seen as a mega-draw—both among her rabid fans, as well as curiosity seekers who might tune in to see how the former Alaska governor presents herself.

“Sarah Palin’s Alaska” will center on interesting characters, traditions and attractions in the 49th state—with the ex-VP candidate as a guide. Burnett and Palin pitched the show to all four major networks—but given the travelogue nature of the series, cable expressed more interest in the project.

rollzone: don’t hold your breath. Of course the show will be ALL ABOUT SARAH, just as it is not only worse. Thankfully it will never be completed by the Queen of the Quitters.

Yes Alaska is beautiful in it natural beauty, which Ms. Palin has chosen to destroy in the name of the almighty dollars that line her pocket. With a history of the ill fated bridge to nowhere which she started and ended up not finishing do to the protest of higher powers, the aerial slaughter of wolves that she drudged up from an overturned and obsolete law from the earlier part of the last century and $250 bounty for every left foreleg of a wolf brought in to her-now that is beyond disrespectful to Gods creations,it is down right sadistic and shows what a sick mine she has, the killing of wolf pups in their dens, BTW it is still illegal to do this in Alaska, but hey Sarah gets what Sarah wants, and don’t forget the caribou, moose, polar bears just to name a few animals that she has had sacrificed for the name of Big Oil and profits for her.

Maybe she will tell us how daughter Bristol is getting medical coverage from socialized medicine that she claims to abhor, that was set aside for the indigenous people of Alaska. AS far as I know Levi has no Native blood quantum in him and what little that Tripp might have would not be enough to qualify him for this benefit is he was not related to Sarah Palin. Also doesn’t her family make way to much money to qualify for free medical care that was intended for the real Native peoples who really need help and not someone who still lived with mom and dad with her baby. Todd’s income alone would disqualify Tripp and all income of all family members are to be included and added up to see if the family is poor enough like the rest of the population has to be 400% below the poverty level to qualify for help. just the money paid to Sarah would put Tripp in an income level to high to receive help.

BTW the average family of 5 on the reservations live on about $2,500.00 or about 500 dollars a year per person and yet the governments keep cutting any help to the Natives in the rest of the country, Bristol Palin is stealing health care her family can really afford to pay and since Bristol is under the age of 21-26 depending on the paid for by the public med insurance Sarah no doubt has for all her family, can easily afford to cover that child, otherwise the father should pay and not the public who in many cases cannot afford coverage for themselves and their own family because of greedy lip stick wearing pigs AKA as the Palins Family.
Now that would be a good start for her reality TV show.

hello. Mrs. Palin, with this budget, has the opportunity of a lifetime. i pray she gives all her energies to this project. she may have more content authority than she realizes. this could be an epic historical, as well as current depiction, of our much unappreciated and unknown state of Alaska. it will be capturing her appearance at a beautiful time in her life, in perpetuity. displaying the natural beauty of Alaska will challenge any director. unfortunately, i may never be able to vacation there. that depends upon my econmic future. informing me would be a cherished addition to my library. i pray she does not waste this income on politics, and finds greater rewards in other ventures.

Discovery channel use to be a high quality channel I
enjoyed watching. What happened? Did Murdoch buy
Discovery channel? Looks to me like the mother of “Joe
The Plummer” is seeking a lot of exposure before the
next election. She’ll need it!

ursomniac: well Wasilly is known as the meth capitol of the world. Maybe they will give live demonstrations on using this drug also. Then she can take all of us to her church and see a witch doctor or whatever he was prepare Sarah so that nothing bad will touch her, like he did when she ran with John McCain, or maybe she will take us on an aerial wolf slaughter since she so loves to kill wolves and the pups in their dens-which is illegal in Alaska- but when did the law ever stop Sarah from breaking it you know. And she can do a show what it is like to live in the bush with no comforts of home, only the open tundra, like while on her book signing tour instead of taking the bus all the way as she claimed, she flew in and got on the bus just before it rolled into the parking lots of the book stores where she signed some of the books and then walked out on that also.

If some network is stupid enough to sign up this well known quitter-they had better be prepared with another show to replace her by about the 3rd episode as she will quit this too.
