In this case, the writing is actually on the wall: Brooklyn-based artist Sebastian Errazuriz turned his shock over hearing that the number of U.S. troops who committed suicide in 2009 doubled the toll of Americans killed in battle into protest art on the wall of his studio. I have a lot of empathy for the troops. I’ll never be a
Report thisfan of the how and why they were deployed the way they
were but to call the artist an opportunist for making
me think about the numbers of troop suicides (PTSD,
divorces, etc) or to even “rejoice a little more” is
really beyond the pale. I’m as against the war(s) as
anyone, but my issue has never been with the “troops.”

bush, the simpleton who committed this country to the
fated criminal enterprise in which its troops are so
demoralized. if anything the “artist” is a tiny voice
in the maelstrom, reminding people of a telling trend.

Yeah it’s unfortunate that so many people are depressed

more unfortunate is that an artist wants to try to
capitalize of this to make a name of himself… or am I
suppose to avoid that reality of this article?
