Seth MacFarlane, the man—not to mention the voices—behind the animated TV show “Family Guy” and the film “Ted,” will be hosting the 85th annual Academy Awards, it was announced Monday. The Oscars will be held Feb. 24.
If MacFarlane’s stint hosting the season opener of “Saturday Night Live” last month is any indication, viewers can expect to hear voices—lots and lots of his signature television and film voices. Like the ones he unleashed during the “SNL” monologue: Hopefully MacFarlane goes to the Oscars rehearsal and avoids a repeat of what happened at the Emmys this year: What do you think of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ choice of MacFarlane to play Oscars host next year?
