Bill O’Reilly Boycotting Sean Penn Films

Bill O'Reilly

How will Sean Penn sleep at night knowing that Fox News’ own talking points champion, Bill O’Reilly, has declared that he will never see another one of Penn’s movies? O’Reilly apparently finds Penn’s politics so repugnant that he won’t watch the actor in any future roles—not even as Larry Fine in the Farrelly brothers’ upcoming “Three Stooges” remake.

Reuters via Google News:

THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER: WHO ARE THESE DRIVE-BY PEOPLE YOU SPEAK OF?

O’Reilly: I take it case by case. We took on George Clooney over the 9/11 charities, and we were absolutely right, but Clooney does a good job with Darfur. We took on Bruce Springsteen for things he has done at concerts because we want to know what his frame of reference is. These are powerful people, and we’re not going to give them a free ride. If there was somebody screaming right-wing stuff, we’d do the same thing. But there is no one like that because if they do that in Hollywood, they’re not going to work, which is an interesting story in and of itself.

THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER: ARE THERE ACTORS WHOSE POLITICAL OPINIONS DISTURB YOU SO MUCH YOU WON’T SEE THEIR MOVIES?

O’Reilly: Just Sean Penn.

No thank you, ridinginfaith. It’s there. You can find it yourself. I no longer contribute to their ratings or their site hits. I provide zero dollars in ad revenue to them, and avoid all of their sponsors as much as I can.

“Please tell us your understanding of “the founding principles of this country”.”

Read Thomas Jefferson.

“This leader bows to a Muslim King sorry I have a problem with all of this.”

Jesus paled around with Middle East prostitutes. George Bush held hands and strolled with the King like a happy gay couple. I’ll bet you will rationalize their behavior because you want to believe they’re on “your side”, right?

I thought you were the one arguing that we were all the same “fellow Americans”. Is your weirdness showing perhaps?

Talk about people who should be hung for treason, now the Republicans have the Democrats right were they want them, on a secrete list of 17 socialists who are in Congress, yes right there in Washington DC, for now this this list is still secrete, but one day it will show who the real Americans are?  Socialists are just not allowed in the good old boy club, forbid if if any of them turn out to be women.

My secrete list of imbeciles has already proven itself to be self evident, so it is not a secrete, actually never was.

Does your “secrete list” include everyone who can’t spell “secret”?

Just thought I’d ask! smile

As far as any person or group that threatens to destroy the founding principles of this country I pray for there failure. For someone to be an enemy they would have to threaten me with bodily harm. I really have not heard Rush say that he wants to exterminate all Liberals, please direct me to the full sound byte. Maybe he just meant it the same way that Ahmadinejad wants to get rid of Israel, I don’t know am just saying maybe. I don’t know but instead of being paranoid of the likes of Rush, O’Riley, or Beck. I would be more concerned that our own leader has an identity crises of his own country and is sorry that he is part of it (that is the only conclusion I come up with for his being so apologetic to anyone and everyone) This leader bows to a Muslim King sorry I have a problem with all of this, not with a couple of radio heads who cares what they think try thinking for yourself, wow what concept. Just saying I have always been proud of my country and every single person that has stood up for it and shed tears for every single person that has died for it. Long live America, God bless her and the people.

Aidan:

Let’s not forget that Bill O’the Clown is sinking….

Look how many idiots take Limbaugh seriously. And they are idiots. When Limbaugh says “Folks, I’m not making this up”, he inevitably is. When an unvetted caller said he was a nazi for supporting torture all “genius” had to say is “Your a nazi” and then had him cut off so Rush could get the last word.

The Clown has been using that technique for years, and so does Hannity.

But you can only be wrong so long before those who still have a few brain cells can no longer abide the lies and the abuse.

Sooner or later those at the margin realize that Bill O’, and Rush don’t give a SHIT about them—Rush is complaining about taxes because HE has to pay them—and the man makes $50 million a year????  He’ll NEVER be poor or broke…he’ll never know what that’s like, nor does he care.  And Bill O’ is EXACTLY the same—conning fools like you into believing he speaks in your best interest.

He throws out the raw meat, drags out the old battle standards, puts his hand on his heart and tearfully tell us how much (sob) he loves (sob) America (shoulders shaking). It’s all an act to put one over on suckers like you so he can continue to live The High Life.

And you buy into it….

“Really, this is how you think of your fellow “Americans”! To weird for me.”

ridinginfaith, is this really how you jump to conclusions?

Alright then, I’ll play. Yes, enemy.

Limbaugh has stated that he wants to see liberals “wiped from the face of the earth.” That means, killed. Coulter has stated that she’d like to see liberals hung from street lamps. That means killed even more descriptively.

O’Reilly?

“And if Al Qaeda comes in here and blows you up, we’re not going to do anything about it. We’re going to say, look, every other place in America is off limits to you, except San Francisco. You want to blow up the Coit Tower? Go ahead.”

Research his practice of “ambush journalism” and then come back here and explain to me on what basis that kind of creature could even begin to be considered an American.

Even his sponsors are backing away from his “show”.

This isn’t just “funzies”, ridinginfaith. I take these people’s comments personally, and I take the speakers at their word, and I realize that makes me less of a liberal than I want to be, but people who do not embrace the founding principles of this country are my enemies.

Why aren’t they yours?

I stopped view Penn’s movies years ago. He is just an actor-not some great human being doing great things like a Jonus Salk. He make a ton of money-but so does O’Reily. To many think whats in the movies are real. They have just enough element of truth to make it appears real but in truth is just a political agenda. Leave politics out of the movie business and I will go back to watching Penn’s movies. He can say what he wants as a private citizen but when its part of the biz its time to turn off-no wonder most people don’t know truth when it hits them between the eyes.

I think what ‘leftwing moonbats’ hate the most is the fact that ‘The O’Reilly Factor’ has been cables No. 1 show in its 8 p.m. time for so long now.  Not to mention that the ‘Fox News Channel’ once again ended the year as cable’s top news network.

This is due mostly to the fact that it is one of only a few media outlets that have the courage to report on issues that the overwhelming liberal media will not.

Here’s a quote from Sean Penn:

“I think that people like the Howard Sterns, the Bill O’Reillys and to a lesser degree the bin Ladens of the world are making a horrible contribution to society. I’d like to trade O’Reilly for bin Laden. O’Reilly is a grumpy, self-loathing joke.”

Bill O’Reilly never organized a terrorist attack which killed thousands of innocent civilians and provoked a war which has killed many thousands more.  And yet Sean Penn thinks that the negative affect of Bin Laden are to a lesser degree that the affect Bill O’Reilly has had on the world.  Sean Penn is the real joke, and if the American Government had any courage about it, he would be hung for treason.  Bill O’Reilly is correct to criticize Sean Penn, and if some of the people posting on this site could step back, have a think, and grow up, they would see that as well.

All luffah boy has heard was Penn played a gay guy opposite Josh Brolin in this last one. Just maybe he saw Penn accept his Oscar for being Harvey Milk while beating off in unmitigated jealousy. Penn’s got a real career while this moron inundates a dying audience of geezers still voting for Eisenhower with half-ass conservative snark for a living. Brillo can and should go straight to hell!

Who cares what this guy thinks? Does he only have to drop a name to get banner headlines from all the liberal media?

This is the way liberals feed our enemies, helping them recruit new conservatives. O’Reilly (and Limbaugh and Coulter and the rest) can’t promote beyond their base. They depend on liberal media to spread their messages, images, and especially their positioning for them.

If liberals don’t get that, we’re a whole helluva lot more stupid than O’Reilly.

Please, Truthdig, leave it to the Huffington Post to wallow in pablum.

Sean Penn is an outstanding individual…......Billo is not in any way shape or form an outstanding individual except in every negative way.  Its interesting that both he and Limbaugh castigated anyone and everyone critical of the Bush/Cheney administration as “unpatriotic” but when someone openly and aggressively spouts “I hope Obama fails!” that they don’t see that what it translates into “I hope America fails.”  Limbaugh and O’Reilly wrap themselves in the American flag and posture as patriots. Hah!  At the same time they are wrapped in the flag they are pissing on it.  Both men are cowards.  Its amazing how Conservative Republicans stand up and scream for war but when they were of age to serve where were they?  Avoiding military service!!!!!!!!!!  Hi there Dick Cheney! You know that refers to you especially.  What cowardice and hypocrisy!  Give Dick a shotgun and he is all man. Loves to go out and shoot birds. COWARD!!!  I’d love to put all those Neocons on the frontline in Afghanistan and Iraq.  They would shit themselves a thousand times over.  To put these hypocrites at the front you would have to pull them all out from under their beds.  Limbaugh,O’Reilly,Cheney,Bush should try supporting this country before they die. Tearing it down only adds to your volumnous negative legacies.

Let’s see, who was the guy that said they will have to pry my rifle out of my cold dead hands? Must have been his left hand.  Great actor Bonzo may have been right wing, but he kept it to himself, on the other hand his co actor Ronald the Regan was from Hollywood, but was he right?  It could be right wing people make lousy actors?

Sadly some people listen to this kind of Ann Colter, Limbaugh, Oraly style grand stand spewing and believe it.

Troll Alert! Freeyourmind is a Troll.

To claim to have “no use for bill” and then go about throwing stones at Hollywood is revelatory.

Penn’s statements have proven to be far closer to reality than O’Reilly’s. We don’t need to wonder; we have the facts. Our Cuba policies (embargo, travel restrictions, etc.) have proven useless. Pushing the same agenda on Venezuela will prove equally ineffective.

Nobody claims that being a movie star/celebrity gives credibility to every word they speak. It may make people listen, but it’s no ticket to credibility. Witness Britney Spear’s “I think we should just trust the our president in every decision he makes” quote.

Penn has done his homework. O’Reilly hasn’t.

And once again, the ratings-sucking Corporate Media story isn’t: WHAT DID PENN SAY AND DID HE HAVE HIS FACTS STRAIGHT? Nope. The story Corporate Media is playing is: IS HOLLYWOOD LEFT-WING? The former story would involve in-depth analysis, thinking, fact-finding. The latter involves nothing more than hyped-up, knee-jerk, polarizing incitement.

Anyone who stands up for some truth and equality is an enemy to o’reilly. He’s just a hack for the wealthy and the neocon war machine. We’re all Americans even if you work in hollywood. The necon gas bags complain about Hollywood but they hold grade B actor Ronald Reagan up high. You’re either for free speech or not. Apparently o’reilly only respects those who swallow his crap. Delusion, hate, and rascism will do that. Sooner or later his buddies in the bush/cheney crime sydicate are going to be on trial for crimes against humanity. It will be interesting to see him self destruct then.
