Brad ’n’ Nancy: Actor Brad Pitt with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi before their Thursday meeting on Capitol Hill.

Mayhem ensued Thursday when actor Brad Pitt visited Capitol Hill to meet with President Barack Obama and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi about rebuilding New Orleans. An anonymous Senate source told the AP that Pitt was possessed of a “nice face” but was “waaaay too skinny.” These politicians need to get their stuff together.

AP via Google News:

From the moment he stepped into the Capitol on Thursday, sunglassed and goateed, Pitt’s star power transformed congressional business-as-usual in a way any lawmaker or new president might envy.

[...] Pitt’s superpowers are such that he and President Barack Obama pulled off an improbably secret meeting on the same topic earlier in the day, White House spokesman Thomas F. Vietor confirmed.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was not immune to his charms. Praising Pitt for his work to rebuild New Orleans’ hurricane-ravaged 9th Ward, she even allowed that meeting him affords her “bragging rights to my children and my grandchildren — a real treat for me as well.”

Brad Pitt has become quite the humanitarian, as did Angelina Jolie a few years before. Together they have given both monetarily, as well as time to help others.

I believe Brad Pitt had it in him to be a giving person and great humanitarian.Becoming Angelina’s significant other brought out the best in both.

Fame and money were meant to do exactly what this power couple are doing with a large percentage of thier fortune and fame.

samosamo, considering the millions and millions of dollars American movie stars take in—sort of a non-governmental entertainment tax on the rest of us—if they want to reinvest them in projects like “Make It Right” that accomplishes even a small percentage of what needs doing in this country, it’s OK with me. At least they aren’t “faith-based”.

Just another point of fact that dashing brad pitt can just cruise on up to washington to rub elbows with the power elite to get new orleans rebuilt. My concern for new orleans is that that it needs to be abandoned as the next katrina will bring the same devestating results. With the climate as it is with the rising sea levels, the unpredictable, servere weather we are starting to experience(and it cannot be stopped), surely the probability of another katrina is vastly more probable than any common sense coming from a meeting of brad pitt and god forbid, pelosi. I mean this is a ‘feel soooo good’ photo op to make all those couch potatoes feel as if brad is really going to straighten the situation out. We are a lost country with no identity other than corporate so look around and see what corporations have done to us and for us other than the 500 channels of shit on tv to choose from.
