Face time: Jennifer Lopez and husband Marc Anthony attend the Latino 2009 Inaugural Gala at Union Station in Washington, D.C., on Sunday.

If Sunday’s concert extravaganza, featuring such boldfaced musical acts as U2 (channeling U2 from 25 years ago), Stevie Wonder and Mary J. Blige, didn’t provide enough glitz for one inaugural bash, several dozen of their celebrity peers are following the spotlight to Washington, D.C., to join in the festivities.

WaxWord:
Wyclef Jean performs at the Green Inaugural Ball hosted by former Vice President Al Gore at the Mellon Auditorium. Marc Anthony, Jennifer Lopez and Tony Palana appeared at a Union Station Latina party and Spike Lee, Sarah Jessica Parker and Chris Tucker headlined the “Root Ball” at the National Museum of American History. At the Ritz Carlton in the West End, LA’s Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown, stars of the political stripe, attended the hot-ticket FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising) Inaugural Fashion Show. The Creative Coalition, a social and political advocacy group founded in 1989 by Alec Baldwin, Christopher Reeve and Susan Sarandon, is hosing [sic] a $10,000-per-person, Hollywood-heavy inaugural ball Tuesday night at the new Harman Center. Not to be outdone, Arianna Huffington, doyenne of new media and no stranger to Washington as the former spouse of a former congressman, is throwing a huge bash at the Newseum Tuesday night bursting with marquee names, including Halle Berry, Ed Harris and Ron Howard.

Once relegated to a place, along with the Gypsies, Criminals and Lepers, outside the gates of the castle our jesters and assorted entertainers have bred an unfounded import to their sordid and decadent lives. The fall of our noble Empire is a direct reflection of said rise in status and calls for the termination of this false “Star” status Immediately and with out pause. STOP THE MADNESS!!! The Hope and promise of the generations yet to be sired depend on Truth,Hard Work and LOVE. None of which will be found on the “Silver Screen” or the flat screen for that matter. The high esteem achieved by the “Gliteratti” makes me Ill…..............urp!
