Sarah Palin Scares Danny Elfman Into Politics

If you don’t know Danny Elfman, you know his music. Better known for his unique film scores and “The Simpsons” theme than his political views, the composer is running an ad in battleground states with a simple message: “President Sarah Palin—think about it.”

Danny Elfman /

We are in the last days of what is likely to be the most important election of our lives. This is especially true given the current crises at home and abroad and the fact that at least one, and likely two Supreme Court Justices are likely to be up for retirement in this next term. (Justice Stevens, one of the last liberal jurors on the court is 88 this year) The potential implications of that alone are staggering. For more on that check out this New Yorker article.

I appreciate that the Democrats aren’t stooping to the level that the McCain campaign and its friends have (even Karl Rove has said that the GOP has gone too far this year!). But I wasn’t seeing responses from the Democrats that were nailing some simple messages that I felt were important.

That’s why I decided to take action. It didn’t take long to realize that I knew many others that I knew who were as frustrated and committed as I was and I thought why can’t we just do it ourselves instead of just complaining?

It would appear that Mr. Elfman is at odds with powerful women that have accomplished a lot of good for the people she represents.

If you want a greater fear, consider President Nancy Pelosi, a mere 2 heartbeats away.

All I know we can’t have another 4 yrs of Bush/Cheney.  Palin scares me to death.  She and the extreme right will only destroy this country.

Country First really means Sarah Palin selects the radio station on their campaign bus.

All in all an interesting spot.  The basic premise is actually correct in its reasoning and the fact that the dumbest bunny on the planet would be the president of the US, scares the shit out of me.
I am appalled at the chance of a Sarah Palin presidency. Nowhere does she show the acumen of a leader of the free world, foreign policy, well all she has to do is look out her front door and see Russia, domestic policy is to her, what the domestics do when they are working for less than minimum wage and their employment not being reported to the IRS or any federal agency.
Her stance on economic policy, let the working class and working poor eat cake, if they can afford the trip to the store to buy the ingredients, tax cuts, yes, but only for those making $250,000 US or more.
Terrorism, of course there are terrorists, right in our own backyard, and they are the “liberals who would teach our children evolution, teach our children about sexual responsibility, using birth control and teaching our children about socialism.
The right way to do things, would be to have compulsory church attendance on Sunday, and only churches approved by the government: those which preach approved government doctrine and do not rock the boat as far as the ideals preached on Sunday and Wed.
More to the point, everyone will have to follow an approved government social doctrine and live according to the rules of the Grand Orgy Party.
Should that scare the shit out of me? Absolutely and Positively YES!

No doubt in my mind they went after Rev Wright, to deflect away from Hagees Sociopsychotic doctrine.
And Sarahs gonna bring him up again to deflect from her adherence to his Delusions of granduer and of course her ‘Witch Hunter’ pastors.
Sarahs Church leader claims Alaska will be the Refuge for their Type of Chiristians….Same concept Charlie ahd for Death Valley. He too ws attemtping to ignite Armegeddon ( Hagee dreams of Pre-emptive stirkes on Iran as the prime mover….Mac’s Bomb bomb bomb Irna confirms his indoctrination- hillary may have confessed her alleigence to ‘Obliterate Iran’)
McVeys’ lil’ group hated the US Govt’..Reason they Bombed the Fed Building in OK and Killed workers and pre school Children. Sarah and Fist Dude are also memebers of a group which Hates the US gov’t.
Sarah is an unyeilding ‘prolifer’ was Randolf who not only coordinated clinic bombings and MD assasinations bu talso blew off a Pipe bomb at the Atlanta Oylmpics- a TERRORIST in every sense of the Word.and yet Sarah can’t define them as such????
So her inexperience is the LEAST of our problems this Woman has Philosophies and views of the World which have ALREADY ATTACKED US, Killed Americans!
If any one presents a National Security Threat or an adherence to Radical extremeism it it SARAH!

If one has to think about it, that would mean one is an imbecile beyond redemption, otherwise thought or thinking are capacities deemed nonexistent in the empty space between ones ears.

For most people this is just a shot across our bow, a reminder, for the rest this would mean high fives on the yellow brick road to the local KKK meeting?

If Sarah Palin was to become president for me it would be a dream come true. In fact a few republicans wanted to put Sarah on the top of the GOP ticket

Ineffective—the spot lacked biting wit and flavor. Instead Elfman made the generic “doomwatch” spot. A missed opportunity.

Nice morph.  Though, I was disappointed by the lack of a signature Elfman score.
