Eastwood Confused, Dismayed by Today’s ‘Perverted Politics’Posted on Oct 7, 2008
Seasoned film star and “Changeling” director Clint Eastwood says American politics aren’t what they used to be; in fact, the grizzled sort-of-libertarian thinks they’re even a little “perverted”—but not like that.

“. . . . I’ve enjoyed your movies, but your politics SUCK!”
The subversion of though and civility was early abetted and given pseudo-legitimacy by Eastwood and his sociopahtic “Make my day!” movie-mantra.
His movies ALSO suck.
So now we see thousands of far-right-brainwashed racist paranoids preaching the necessity of stockpiling guns in order to “self-defend” against the any-day-now invading hoards of non-white muslim immigrant welfare queen terrorists who are polluting our precious bodily fluids.
And, of course, against the “lib-rul” gum’mint that spends all our tax monies inventing conspiracy theories by means of which to obscure all their REAL conspiracies.

Hetzer , actually Eastwood was embarked on a successful career as a lifeguard and swimming instructer before being ” discovered ” by , I believe Burt Lancaster , while giving swimming lessons to the actors on some movie . Lancaster liked him and gave him a reference for a bit part in another movie .

Linda S you reveal your true motives by posting an Obama smear link, on a thread that concerns director Clint Eastwood. Posters on Truthdig should report this abuse.

Back in the day, when I was putting together a daily the old fashioned way, we called this kind of “news” a filler.
Every now and again, while building a page for the press, news print would leave a blank space. So fillers came in handy.
Freelancers use to have to hunt for the filler they submitted. Now-a-days, we all have to hunt for the news!
Nuff said.

The gutter politics of this era is part and parcel of the Republican grab for all the levers of power, and Clint has been a supporter and enabler of this sad, slimy atmosphere of negative political lies and attacks…
I would take Clint more seriously if he actually admitted that this poisonous atmosphere is a product of the Republican mantra…Win At Any COST!
Save your whining for those who actually care Eastwood…I’ve enjoyed your movies, but your politics SUCK!

Eastwood was one of the best panderers of all. He glorified con artists many times seeing them as representative of American gumption, when in fact the characters are just crooks feeding on the weak. If he didn’t win the Hollywood pyramid scheme, he would have lived an ordinary life asking for handouts from Washington, like everyone else. In many ways he was a perfect example of a frat boy.

“Very confusing era”???
As when Polk invaded Texas without cause?
As when Buccannan did nothing to address the problems leading to the civil war?
As when Harding succumed to greed, as when Coolige allowed the stock market unfettered access to working folks wallets?
As when Truman rained fire on innocent women and children?
As when Johnson lied to keep us in Vietnam?
As when Nixon attempted to overthrow the constitution?
As when we lived through our first unelected President? (Ford)
As when we dismantled the protections for working folks under Reagan, Bush Clinton and Bush?
This isn’t a confusing time at all… for me at least, it is where we have been headed for at least one century.

“Very confusing era” for a reason, Mister Eastwood. Unsettling, unnerving, crisis upon crisis. Kinda like living with an abuser. Ask any battered wife. Then google ways to escape an abuser.
