Homeland Security Meets Reality TVPosted on May 29, 2008
If you thought reality TV was only for wannabe warblers, petulant teens and bug-eating fetishists, guess again. The Department of Homeland Security, “as well as several other government agencies,” according to The Hollywood Reporter, is working with ABC on a new “unscripted” show called “Border Security USA,” brought to you, creepily enough, by the executive producer of “Big Brother.”

You folks obviously don’t have the slightest clue what goes on at our borders and ports of entry, or the work that our Customs and Border Patrol agents do on a daily basis. YOU are precisely what this show is targeted for, and why the government even agreed to do this show. This isn’t a show to make all illegal immigrants appear “evil” or to create a sense of fear; it’s to show you first-hand what their job entails.
I currently live in El Paso and can assure you, these agents are not being shot and run over simply because there are a handful of “Last Resort” immigrants trying to cross the border. We have a very serious problem going on in this country right now, and no, the government cannot track everyone down to deport. They can’t even track the ones who came in legally and overstayed.
Wake up people, it’s about a lot more than government control or immigrants looking for a job “that Americans won’t do.”

Dear Bea,
A classic way to control a society is to appeal to the baser drives of its’ people. I read a novel titled, “The Inability to Mourn.” The book was written by two psychiatrist who wrote on the subject of the states of mind of the German people during the time of the holocaust. According to the doctors, infantile ambivalence is just one of the ways that the thinkings and behaviors of a citizenry can be controlled. When the people believe that they have no say in governing, they began to reason like children. When we, as American reason through fear rather than universal global evaluation, we bind ourselves to limitations that prevent us from developing critical and discerning opinions.
When we, as Americans do not education ourselves on the fact that American Corporations extract the natural resources from impoverished countries, leaving the people of these nations as poor or even poorer than before an American presence, than we bind ourselves in presumptive ignorance.
When we begin to realize that the powers that be want to divert public attention by the use of subjects such as immigration; rather than having its populace focus on the illegal and inhumane actions of both government and corporate than we citizens become more valuable to the international communities. When we reason from a source other than fear, our contributions of thought are collected from higher sources. Manufactured fear is void of compassion, humane actions, inclusive considerations, wanting for others what we want for ourselves. American core values are in questions now, and now is the time for all good people to come to the aid of their country by reminding it of its responsibilities. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Ruhullaha

The Pentagon is ass deep into the media and has been for a long time. Any militaristic or police type government agency that needs propaganda get it.
Report thisThe media gets free radio spectrum, billions in campaign cash and we get the lies.
Without the media to lie for them the corporate state can’t steal from you so easily.
If it ever gets exposed how intertwined the media and government really are, people are going to be shocked. Really shocked.

I am very pleased to me among the American thinkers who realize that our rights are being taken away from us in the name of enforcement. What was once preceived as a body of protectors of the rights of the private citizen can now be seen as the forces who will control the movements, police the communications, and invade the basic rights of each citizen. Recently, I heard the comment tyranny or terrorism? Tyranny or terrorism? If you want to be rid of one; you must get rid of the other. Since the powers that be want to further their agenda by amplifying certain words while silencing others we the private citizens of the world are now subjected to both, “T’s”
A television program where Homeland Security is featured, I think that’s a tyrant of a idea.

Where’s Winston?
Just another tool to desensitize the ignorant American sheeple to what will be happening to them in their neighborhoods very, very soon.
And they’ll think it’s cool to be on “TV”.
This country is truly doomed.

I dont know how much I can say Im appalled by this idea. It drives me insane how people are so completely ignorant of others sufferings, and when they finally see it, they are amused!
We’re showing everyday heroes who are risking their lives to protect us, said Shapiro. Huh? What? Ok, Im not here to protect illegal immigrants, they are, in the end, breaking the law, and I totally understand that, and do understand North Americans who are tired of legal immigrants too (though I myself am an immigrant). But this is beyond insanity! Hes acting as if those trying to get to the U.S were big bad wolves (as in the very famous song by Disney whos afraid of the big bad wolf? who tries to enter the houses illegally). Please! Isnt more than clear that those immigrants are in the U.S solely because that is their LAST choice? And that the economy of the U.S needs them? Who actually thinks that the government cant find them and deport them? And whats worse, some people complain that they rip money for welfare programs. If only they were a little more informed, illegal immigrants dont get help from the government, they need green card or social security. Furthermore, they give money to social security, but never get it back.
I think my anger, or my disgust, with this show is not even on their idea of protection, for drug dealers also try to cross the border, but how they try to get some money on the suffering of others. Have some imagination and make up a story! Im so sick of reality shows! Those producers dont get tired of exploiting people, and the audience loves it, it is quite amazing how many people find seeing someone crying fun. Oh, and when people fight, then the viewer jumps of excitement. This is absurd. This is the world we live in.
