Stone’s Next Subject: G.W. Bush

Portrait of a president:  Oliver Stone says he’s not interested in Bush-bashing for its own sake in his upcoming film about the current U.S. president.

Director Oliver Stone has already demonstrated his penchant for making movies about controversial figures and critical moments in world history, so it should come as no surprise that Stone is turning his lens on George W. Bush for his next film, simply and succinctly called “Bush.”

According to Daily Variety, Josh Brolin, riding high after his acclaimed turn in “No Country for Old Men,” is attached to play President Bush, but the trade didn’t mention any actors being considered for other choice parts like Dick Cheney, Karl Rove, Condoleezza Rice and George H.W. Bush. Got suggestions? Discuss.

Daily Variety:

“It’s a behind-the-scenes approach, similar to ‘Nixon,’ to give a sense of what it’s like to be in his skin,” Stone told Daily Variety. “But if ‘Nixon’ was a symphony, this is more like a chamber piece, and not as dark in tone. People have turned my political ideas into a cliche, but that is superficial. I’m a dramatist who is interested in people, and I have empathy for Bush as a human being, much the same as I did for Castro, Nixon, Jim Morrison, Jim Garrison and Alexander the Great.”

Stone declined to give his personal opinion of the president.

“I can’t give you that, because the filmmaker has to hide in the work,” Stone said. “Here, I’m the referee, and I want a fair, true portrait of the man. How did Bush go from an alcoholic bum to the most powerful figure in the world? It’s like Frank Capra territory on one hand, but I’ll also cover the demons in his private life, his bouts with his dad and his conversion to Christianity, which explains a lot of where he is coming from. It includes his belief that God personally chose him to be president of the United States, and his coming into his own with the stunning, preemptive attack on Iraq. It will contain surprises for Bush supporters and his detractors.”

We can carry on with W. thinks God is his guide, Oliver and Michael may do movies, but till we can have a mention of the 9/ll coverup in the corporate media, nothing changes.  Obama can be president and till the bare physics of 9/ll get shoved down schizoid throats, the danger is unchanged. Besides, the shit then will head on, and on.  Whatever should Obama supposedly do?  Maybe he could speak up?

Stone's 9/11 movie brought us together

Stone seemed to try to find common ground in his movie about 9/11. Hopefully, Stone can establish a consensus on Bush too.

Lapdog Mangle Bush

Frenchman Jérôme Kerviel must play Bush. Though Kerviel is likely a derivative scapegoat, he knows firsthand how big financiers and their political lapdogs dysfunction. Besides, I prefer a french accent to that presidential vomitus mangle.

Oliver - listen up, surely you have something better to do with your time. If not, I’d like to suggest more therapy.

On the plus side - no one will be copying it when and if it gets to DVD.

If this movie is about Bushs’ accomplishments what will we watch for 2 hours?

Now if the movie is to be about lies told during this administration, it would be a mini series.

Oliver Stone

George Bush is not a recovering alcoholic, he is a dry drunk. He supposedly quit drinking because he found God.  He is a drunk, and will always be a drunk. Drunks are arrogant, mean, pick fights and let others do their battles, their families despise them, they have no friends and they always cry “look what he or she did to me!” They never take responsibility for their lousey lives and the expect everybody else to pick up after they have managed to destroy everything they touch. This man has no conscience, has no heart and has no idea how to show any kind of real emotion.  He sneers and he laughs and he walks like a cowboy with a swagger.  But those of us who know and have lived with alcholism
can see right through the little bastard. He will self destruct! So save yourself Mr. Stone, from making a movie about this arrogrant little prick!
Do us a favor, don’t bother.

Great…
Oliver Stone is going to make another boring, heavy movie that is so full of “social importance” that I’d rather have my teeth drilled than go see it.
The man doesn’t have a CLUE what the meaning of “subtle” is.

The kicker is I mostly agree with where Stone is coming from politically, but as for his movies? Wake me when it’s over!

Now if the late I.F. Stone were still alive and making a movie, I’d sit up and take notice!

Mr Stone, SHAME on you! dubya does not deserve even
an ounce of attention. You will lose millions of $.

Here’s is a thought: everyone boycott the state of
the union address next week. I refuse to listen to
this ignorant madman. But you know what? Typical
stupid American politicians will applaud the loser dubya until their hands are red, during this
mis-take of the union address.

In November 2004, when the impossible happened
(dubya re-elected), I said that 4 more years of
this madman would spell the end of the United
states as we know it, and it would slide into the
status of a 3rd world country. We are not too far from this being true.

Mr Stone, re-consider your plans!!

a non-subject as huge as George Bush - #By Gabir, January 24: “...a movie about the ABSOLUTE WORST PRESIDENT IN AMERICAN HISTORY...”

Some people might get a shock to consider that GWB was NOT the worst US president. The one who started the CIVIL WAR in the 1800’s was! This can be proven beyond a shadow of a doubt once Americans (especially Yankees) stop their ludicrous fantasizing about that era and the glories of war.

It was hardly likely that any bunch of white men went to war to kill each other over a bunch of black slaves. Thus, the fact was that there were other issues involved. Consequently, the reality was that a war could have been avoided then - if Washington had wanted to.

Going back to Obama’s hypocritical “anti-war” speech, it was so-oo nice of him to state that white men killing each other was a good thing, uhh. The “crucible of the sword” and “I don’t oppose all wars”..... What a bunch of idiots you all really are to be sucked in by that!

By xenon, January 24: “...he would have tackled Cheney instead.... maniacal, messianic little cowboy ...”

Now, someone else has the chance to do exactly that, xenon!

By troublesum, January 23: “...we need a documentary showing exactly what happened in this country for the last eight years....”

Oh yes, forget having an election. In fact, you might as well because you could all have lost your freedom between now and November anyway.

Typically American - “truth” as a Hollywood production more palatable than reality, uhh. We’ll just sit back and wait to be spoon-fed........

If Mr. Stone had any intestinal fortitude at all, he would have tackled Cheney instead. Nothing says “close but no cigar” like taking on the puppet instead of its master. Why he would bother wasting his time (and money) at the risk of inflating the ego of this maniacal, messianic little cowboy is completely beyond me.

Now THAT was a good film.
Apparently Condi nearly had apoplexy over it.
Now THAT would would have been good too.

Regarding Stones film, can you imagine writing the script, how easy would that be? Only you’d never have to finish a sentence, or even spell it correctly.

A Waste of Money and Film .

How many millions of dollars will Mr. Stone waste on a non- subject as huge as George Bush , who has wasted billions of dollars on his global terrorism exploits and sent thousands of American Soldiers to die or come home injured physically and emotionally beyond repair . How many Iraqi and Afgan deaths is Bush responsible for????
This just proves that Hollywood Moguls will do anything , including the creation of a movie about the ABSOLUTE WORST PRESIDENT IN AMERICAN HISTORY , to further inflate their already obscene incomes .
Mr. Stone , you are as disgusting as the subjects of your films . I hope that if this “PROJECT” makes it to theatres , Americans will have the sense to stay away , making this movie your biggest STINKER , as huge a STINKER as the subject of the film .

CALLING MICHAEL MOORE

Since Stone has chosen to do a whitewash we need a documentary showing exactly what happened in this country for the last eight years.  We should not forget what happened here.  Stone said he is fascinated by W’s rise from recovering alcoholic to the most powerful office in the world.  He reminds us that W thinks God chose him to be president.  It’s called election fraud; god had nothing to do with it.

I’m afraid it is just a movie.  It will try to milk every human weakness from rosewater to snake oil.  It will probably be like all the other political movies.  Crooks do terrible things, but they are always human and fascinating.  They are bums just like us (that is true).  I’ll just be glad if it isn’t another “Patton”.  I’ll watch it even if I may have to take a shower afterwards.

sadly, they screwed themselves by letting media film
everything...because of their need to be big!!!
If anyone watches Fahrenheit 911...you will see
everything...even to the people over there fighting
who disagreed with things.  It has been my cross to

...showing empathy for Bush as a human being?

“I have empathy for Bush as a human being, much the same as I did for Castro, Nixon, Jim Morrison, Jim Garrison and Alexander the Great.”

Olliver Stone, please don’t mention Bush in the same sentence as the others… or on the same page!

I don’t have empathy for Bush as a human being or as anything else. What are his accomplishments? His dreams? His human qualities?
From what we know he has always been a derelict, a cruel jerk, an animal torturer, a cheat, a liar, a loser, an intellectual zero. If he has any hidden qualities only his god knows about, he has managed to hide them from us; and I am really not interested whether he has any or not. It is tooooooo late!

I will never see a film about bush, no matter who makes it. Even if it were a horror movie, as it should be. Why live through it again?

IT'S A TRAGIC COMEDY MERGED WITH HORROR

Does Oliver Stone really think he can produce an accurate and truth fulled film about the Shrub? He must remember that all script writing will be done by the Bush administration, as it does with the news we have today. This ensures that nothing negative touches the Shrub, especially like the real facts would.
Maybe they could get Whoopi Goldberg to play Ms. Rice. Ron Silver could take over the role of Chertoff. George Lopez as Alberto G. Karl Malden-is he still alive- reminds me of Cheneys bulldog look, if Karl is dead then Jim Belushi could pull it off. Leslie Nielsen to act in the role of the Sr. Shrub, Paula Poundstone would portray Laura, Rosie O’Donnell as Karl Rove. Margret Hamilton will be resurrected for the role of Mother Barbara and as they were unable to find any actor able to portray the role as President any where close to the actual one we have now, G.W. will take time away from his nap to portray himself. The twins will be played by Paris Hilton and Brittany Spears.

On another post it stated that G.W. put a firecrackers in the mouth of frogs and blew them up. It is well known that those who torture small animals as a child, or in this case, as a youth* and are not treated with the proper medical, legal attention when the problem first occurs often times and in most cases, turn out to be murderers/killers when they become adults. Does this ring a bell?

Stone may want to W

Stone may want to W as the “straight” in a White House drama whose driving characters are Cheney, Rove, Rumsfield, and other manics, comics, and schmoozers.  Perhaps the model is the Jerzy Kosinski story “Being There,” where a lobotomesque stooge becomes the object of other people’s projected ideas, schemes, and cravings.  Or maybe the movie will deal entirely with W’s semi-obscured youth or dark years as a directionless son of a hyper-achiever.  I can also imagine it culminating in the famous landing on the deck of the USS Lincoln, presented as a surreal cross between the closing scene of El Cid and Austin Powers’ launch into time travel.

But heaven help humanity of Stone casts some laconic Gary Gooper or Randolf Scott type and conves W as some verbally challenged but nonetheless noble character.

This is an excerpt from

This is an excerpt from the May 15th Prophecy post on August 29th 2007

“Now there is a new Republican sex scandal appearing in the news today, which is but one of many the party has endured.

Therefore it is important to remember, the leader of that party and the nations as well, is being led by a leader who have laid at the alter of a strange god naked and masturbating

Keep watching and remember what the May 15th Prophecy told you about September so keep watch, for the spirit of iniquity is already at work

and also from the lastest post on January 18th 2008

“President Bush who is the proud man spoken of by God prophet Habakkuk who will bring shame to his house; is the same man who is cursed for taking that which is not his; will continue to load up on debt he cannot repay (with what he must repay!).(See: The Bush Administration in Prophecy)

Satan has appointed his pawn (President Bush) to be his fire starter, who will start so many fires it will be impossible to help in time!

Thus saith The Word of God “You have plundered many nations; now they will plunder you. You murderers! You have filled the countryside with violence and all the cities, too.”

Last Day Watchers it is important for you to know; and for the soldiers who have been misused by this fire starter to know; that God has heard your cries and prayers of your anger, bewilderment and bereavement.

God has therefore informed me to let you know and for you to take comfort in the fact that the U.S. and British armed forces in Iraq are there against his will which has been spoken of by his prophet Habakkuk chapter 2 verse 13.

“Consider it is not from the Lord of Host, that the people are working for fire, and using themselves up for nothing”.

Take that to heart Last Day Watchers!

BUSH? Say it aint so!!!

I would rather see a criminal court transcript of the Bush years than a film on GW’s life. Talk about wasted energy and money. I have not listened or viewed GWB in news segments or in print media for years. As I’ve essentially not turned on a TV set in years .The site of that man bush makes me ill also.So why would I go and watch a movie about 1 man that wreaked such havoc over an entire globe in such a short amount of time and was not held accountable for any of it.

The man certainly is not worth my time.

O. Stone...what were you thinking or you must be stoned.

The world is in dire of need of repair, not a film that adds insult to injury. My guess is , this will not be a huge money maker for Stone. As a matter of fact he ought to pay people to view it if they can stomach it.I’m sure it won’t be a “just have to see” movie in any country.

“My wife and I mute the sound everytime swizzle stick spews. I’m happy to report that I haven’t heard a complete sentence from this pretender to the presidency since before the coup.”

***

Ted, I’m happy to report, even had you listened, you wouldn’t have heard a complete sentence!

Stringing words together in a cohesive fashion, resulting in demonstrable cognizance is an art Mr. Bush has never mastered.

I often wonder if that isn’t a reflection of our collective citizenry’s ability [or lack thereof] to think. Then I look at the economy today and realize, being ignorant didn’t begin with Bush, but it definitely does qualify one to be republican. [And compete for democrat leadership!]

We’ve been racing down the crumbling road called de-regulation and free market economy and “war is peace” for many years.

Now we’ve reached the end of the road and Bush is the flashing red light we see just before we break the barricade placed in front of the missing bridge!

We still don’t know what will happen when we hit the bottom! Will we bounce, or simply self destruct?

Perhaps Stones ambition is premature. Maybe he needs to wait and see how the movie should end!

Now for the title ...how about “Broke the Bank - Mountain of Debt”???

Who was that director??? Oh, Ang Lee......

All you need is 300 million sheep, the Crawford Ranch .....and a nude scene in which the main character jumps into a lake....

The rest can be filmed at this week’s World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. It will be banned in China because homosexuality is considered a taboo subject.

I read a book a

I read a book a few years back titled:
“Did I ever tell you how lucky you are” by Seuss.

This book seems to apply to those lucky enough to live in the web of bush. You should never fear as your leader is fearing for you. The brilliance of the bush, who long before any other mortal on the face of the earth has foreseen that the economy under his brilliant rule and guidance is starting to sink just a tiny itsy bitsy bit(and to think that at the very moment it began to sink is the exact moment when he first noticed it). The man is brilliant! The “decider” has decided a spike is just what is needed. He will return your hard earned tax dollars so you can spend and spike. Then he will tax you on them again next year.  The man is brilliant, just brilliant! So don’t blame him for coming in late on this one! Just brilliant!

“When you think things are bad,
when you feel sour and blue,
when you start to get mad…
you should do what I do!.

Just tell yourself, Ducky,
you’re really quite lucky!
Some people are much more…
oh, ever so much more…
oh,muchly much-much more
unlucky than you”

And those less fortunate are
the people who live in a
far-away desert land where the
dictator leader once threatened
bigbush. Don’t ever threaten
brilliance.

Lets hear it for the man’s brilliance! WoW....

Lookout! We could be

Lookout!  We could be subjected to Bush 2, Bush 3, and maybe even Bush 4.  Then, if Stone’s depiction is favorable toward W, someone else will come out with Bush, Redux.  Then you’ll have redux 2, etc.  This could get very out of control.

It took 3+ hours for my hero, Charleton to get the Jews out of Egypt, fetch the Ten Commandments from the burning bush and head on into the Promised Land sunset.

In view of that, how long will a movie have to be to give a fair portrayal to this baboon destroying the middle east, laying waste to our planet and destroying our economy, if not the world’s.  This is definitely epic in size.  I wouldn’t attempt it.  Ya gotta hand it to Ollie!  You go, Ollie!

Could be beneficial....

For those people whose minds are open and are wondering how we wound up with such an inept leader, a film like this might be beneficial in helping them make better choices in the future.  As for me, I had carefully researched George W. Bush prior to his election in 2000 and knew all I needed to know as to how totally unqualified, in fact, potentially dangerous, he was as president of the U.S.  I was amazed, that even with his money and given the fact we are talking about Texas, that he was elected as governor.  But to go see a movie about a seven year and counting, nightmare, I will pass.

i once read an article that said bush, in his youth, would put a firecracker in the mouths of frogs, light it up, throw the frog in the air and watch it explode.
to me, that says all you need to know about this guy.
will that be the film?

Re: dismaying

What is even more chilling is that no one else thought it was wrong.  Please Texas.  We don’t need any more crooks and traitors.  We just don’t need any more.

So, we'll get a......

^film that is an interpretation of the events of the last 7 years?  An artsie fartsie rendition of the life and times of modern day war criminals?  I didn’t see Nixon because I lived that SOB the same as I have lived this SOB.  What will you tell mee that I already don’t know Steven?  As QuyTran has already said, “Feed your dogs; time well spent.”

Give It Up

I don’t even think speculating on what actors should play the criminals in the Bush regime is of much interest. BushCo has already wasted our time, our resources, our lives, and the planets future. We need to waste no more time depicting a useless life.

I for one would not see it. Watching Bush crimes unfold in the news is already enough.

I've never been able to

I’ve never been able to watch “NIXON” so I don’t expect that I will see “BUSH” either.  Isn’t there anything good in the world that might inspire a film maker?  Why does Stone hate us?
