Alexander Reed Kelly, Assistant Editor
In December 2010, Alexander Reed Kelly was arrested in front of the White House while protesting America’s wars alongside Truthdig columnist Chris Hedges, Pentagon whistle-blower Daniel Ellsberg and 130 other activists, many of them veterans. He was quickly released, and a few weeks later began an internship at Harper’s Magazine. He joined Truthdig in May 2011 as an assistant editor. Alexander covered the United Nation’s annual climate change conferences in Copenhagen for the Seattle-based reporting firm InvestigateWest and in Cancun on a fellowship from the Earth Journalism Network. His team won a first place award from the Society of Professional Journalists for their coverage of the Copenhagen talks. He holds a humanities degree from the Department of Liberal Studies at Western Washington University, writes ‘Truthdigger of the Week’ and is an empiricist. He has been published at Truthdig, Counterpunch and elsewhere. Truthdig Columns201305/18 Truthdigger of the Week: Sen.
